Rich Rodriguez fires all of Michigan's assistant coaches
http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll...&Ref=AR&Show=0
you'd think he'd at least keep ron english. but im sure he knows what it takes to build a strong defense. [/sarcasm]

I think it'll be tough for him to do much worse than Lloyd Carr. Winning is the bottom line, and it's tough to picture Rodriguez not building a consistently dominant team in the Big10. Of course they've been dominant in the past, but I see them being much better in the big games that Carr's squads struggled so greatly in. Michigan will always be able to beat the Minnesota's and Northwestern's regardless of HC. I see this as a major upgrade for UM. There are a lot of HS kids out there that love playing in his style of offense, and love playing for a prestigious university such as that of Michigan. Once he gets his pieces in place, watch out Tressel.

I heard Terrelle Pryor really liked Scot Loeffler. I guess you can't expect Rodriguez to keep him around though. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up.

I don't blame him. If I was a coach, and I wanted to bring in my own people I would do the same thing.

There is a good chance that Rich Rod hires some of these guys back. He said in his press conference that he wasn't going to retain anyone, but he would possibly re-hire some of them.

I'm having trouble figuring out the reason for that? Is there some logical reason to go about it that way?

We'll lose 1, maybe 2 recruits. Nothing major.

I know nothing of the recruits you have, so I will most likely speak in ignorance. By all accounts McGuffie does not seem happy, and Pryor will turn a complete blind eye to Mich. I do not know the situation with Cissoko but some people feel he might abandon ship.
Plus you never know who might transfer, if you believe any of the R Mall to Arky rumors.

I was more pointing to what Carr has done at Michigan, and what I think Rodriguez will do at Michigan.

ND laughs at your bowl record. I think I was still watching scrambled porn the last time they won a bowl game.

If he sucks so much how come every hilljack from WV is cursing his name and essentially throwing a giant temper tantrum?
We're happy with him, WVU will likely revert to being a non-factor on a national stage as far as football goes.

How folks can bag on Hot Rod is beyond me. Sounds a little bit more like "Michigan hating" then anything else.
Jeez, given Carr's ineptitude you would think folks would give this guy a shot.

Fred Jackson is getting re-hired. It looks like up to two more will be re-hired. This is huge for Michigan. Jackson was one of our best recruiters and he has recruiting ties in the states of Louisiana and Texas. This pretty much assures that McGuffie is coming, in my opinion.

He ran the 3-3-5 because he couldn't recruit talent to play any other defense at WVU and has to use it out of necessity.
Michigan on the other hand, can get the players to run any sort of defense it desires. If we do run the 3-3-5, it won't be because we have to.

the 3-3-5 is harder to recruit for----you have to have the athletes to run it
their defenses were better under nehlan and he ran a 4-3; casteel ran a 4-3, but rod made him switch to the 3-3-5
rod has an ego and was being overshadowed by fan favorite huggins
rod ran off one of the best oline coaches in rick trickett; he said he would return to morgantown (his hometown) if rod ever left; he might be coming back (depending on who the new coach is)
lock up your cheerleaders and real estate agents
