Best by Position: DE
Could go many ways here.
I dont think MIN should win considering one of their DE's wont play and they only have one elite.
Its the group as a whole

I'm going with Chicago. Ogun is a stud. Brown and Anderson are also good.

I wouldn't disregard Ray Edwards, or the commity of Robinso, Mitchel and Erasmus James.
Bears have got a great unit too.
I love Kampman and wish the packers didnt match the offer sheet we gave him a few years back. Does anyone know the details of that? - like what would the compensation have been.
Imagine Allen Williams Williams Kampman .... wow

If the Vikings did sign Kampman i doubt they would have traded for Allen there would be no need. If they had Kampman they would've had a decent pass rush. They traded for Allen because they were really lacking a pass rush.

I would not want to imagine that.

Uhhh im like 99% sure that Jared Allen was already suspended last year original 4 games but reduced to 2 for his 2nd DUI. If he stays clean for a couple more months the NFL has said they would consider wiping his slate clean because the DUI's would be like 2+years ago. If this happens and he gets another DUI he likely wouldn't get suspended for the season. Jared Allen is good but the Vikings don't really have another DE that has really proven themselves yet. The Bears or Packers would be better options.

that still doesnt make them better at DE. We have Anderson Brown and Ogunleye. We also have Bazuin, a 2-3 round prospect and a nice player from this years draft.

I have to go with the Bears at DE.
Ogunleye,Brown and Anderson are three solid DEs. And the Bears did lead the North in sacks last year.
Packers have Kampman and KGB was declining but regained his form last year but Jenkins underachieved last year per some of the Packer fans.
Vikings unit is based on the future. Allen should have a big impact but Ray Edwards/James/Robison need to step up their game.
Detroit, nothing spectacular but ok with Marinelli. First half of last year they were very good but then the whole D-line not just Shaun Rogers disappeared Based more on the potential of Ikaika Alama Francis and Avril as a 3rd down pass rushing specialist. DeWayne White was solid last year before his injury, but will never be great. DeVries overachieved in the beginning of the year and then regressed. Best D-line guru and the worst pass rushers. Go figure. Maybe its because our D-line coach spends all his time naked at Wendys drive thrus.

imo kgb should not be an every down starter anymore and I think he no the level of Mark Anderson so they were kinda a wash to me. Kampman is better than Ogun but I still think Ogun is a great DE. Alex Brown was the swing man in my vote.

You're right he's not, and we don't use him as one. He's a great 3rd down rusher though. It's really really close, I'd probably give this one to the Bears though.

Chicago. They have the deepest group of DE's. GB is close though

While I think by the end of the season the Vikings will have the best DE group, but this isn't about projections into the future, so I am gonna have to go with the Bears.

It was said in the first thread that it was a projection of the end of the season. But i think that was just so that Packers could justify Rodgers, in other positions where they are old like cb we will probly see some double standards

Considering we drafted a CB in the 2nd it is possible that our CB play could be just as good this year

So do i. Stud on the right and lots of young talent with loads of potential including a past first rounder who has been injured. All of which will face less blockers because of the Williams.
Realy not that hard to belive - i think he is dead on the money

Allen could be the start of a special unit, but said former first rounder that was injured got traded away.
This division has some nasty rush happening. The OTs better bunker down!

I think it's quite close, but if we are talking about the best unit, I think Brown/Ogun starting with Anderson rotating in is a better threesome than what other teams can go with.
