KalBear has something for just your own team.
This is everyone's chance to play "Swami". We see Athlon's and Sports Illustrated and ESPN's season predictions.
Well it's time for WE THE PEOPLE to go down on record. If you don't, then don't say, in December or January, that you knew the Vikings would go 8-8 or the Saints would miss the playoffs or that the Chiefs or Raiders would shock the AFC West, etc. Get it down on paper here, now.
(No Edits after Sept 9th. Each & Everyone can go on record right here, so there's none of this BS at the end of the season saying "oh I knew this or that".... get it down here!)

The sports universe is way higher on the Falcons than even Falcons fans are.

I could see the NFC north shaping up that way. Rodgers is such a stud and is only getting better. While Minnesota is the walking wounded and has a brutal schedule. I really cant see Chicago doing anything until Lovie is gone. And while I think Detroit is going to be improved and is going in the right direction, I can still only see them winning 6 or 7 games this year.

Perception: We have an elite offense with a suspect defense.
Reality: Our passing attack isn't nearly as good as some make it out to be, but our defense will be much better than people imagine. We have a young, fast and aggressive defense. They have looked very, very good.
Unless Matt Ryan develops some consistency it will be tough to beat the Saints in the division though.

I noticed everyone is hopping the Falcons at the moment, and I was shocked at the way the Falcons board looks when I was lurking there, seems very worried, and cautiously optimistic at best.
As for the NFC, the Saints and Vikings when healthy are clearly a step ahead of the rest. I don't see what the Packers or Cowboys done to put themselves in that category.

If you're going to use a qualifier like if healthy the giants, cowboys and packers are all as good as the Saints and Vikings. If healthy the giants pass D is dominant, if healthy the giants running game can roll over teams, if healthy eli and that passing game can do what it wants, when it wants and if healthy are run is adequate. If healthy is such a ridiculous qualifier in the NFL where no one is ever healthy come playoff time and when there's a lot of elite teams.

Disagree. Saints are dominant when healthy, they showed that last year. None of those teams showed they can dominate for extended amounts of time.
Once again though, the Saints passing is way underrated, because for some reason everyone seems to think their offense is on par with ours when we've been 1,1,4,1 offensively since Brees has been here.
Excuse me if I'm not sold on teams that have either Shaky QBs, shaky protection, or both. Honestly, with some of the meltdowns all of these teams had(really, all but the Vikings) I'm not sold on any of them having more than spurts of dominant play.

wonderbred, nice work.

I can't see the Packers having a +24 turnover ratio again and their running game scares me, but Aaron Rodgers is just so ******* good, he's going to win one eventually.
Being the best 3rd down passer in the league is a sweet stat.

I wouldn't worry about our running game. There's really no reason for it not to be as solid as it was last year (14th in yards, 11th in yards per carry), unless it's simply because we throw the ball more. If something is going to hold us back this year, it'll probably be the pass defense, but I think we'll be better equipped this year than we were for the terrible performances we had last year.

Not ripping on you or anything like that, but I'd just like to know why you think that.

Getting Harris back will be a big part of it. Even if he's not playing at the same level that he was a year ago, he should still be our #2 corner. Harris will probably miss week one, and there's a chance he starts the season on the PUP, but the good news is that after Philly, we should have an easy five games before he gets back for Minnesota, NYJ, Dallas, etc.
After Woodson, Trammon, and Harris we have Underwood (who should be better than he was as a rookie a year ago) and Lee (was hurt last year, has been so-so in training camp). It looks like Jarrett Bush, who was playing nickelback by the end of the season, won't be one of the six corners to make the team. It's not great depth, but it should be much better than the guys we had getting torn apart against Pittsburgh and Arizona.
While we don't really know how he'll perform, I also think Burnett will do a better job in coverage, even in his rookie year, than Bigby. He should also be more reliable in terms of injury.
This prediction is probably exclusively the result of me having to many packers fans as friends, but the Giants will have a better year than the Packers this year, they may get more regular season wins, but barring ridiculous injuries we'll go further in the playoffs.

Who is your "we'll"? I see a dancer in your avatar and a German Soccer player in your signature. Germany had a nice run at the World Cup, but failed to win.

Actually that's a german soccer player in my avi as well, but that we is referring to the Giants. What I was saying was the pack may win more regular season games...skins + eagles > bears + lions...but the giants will do better in the playoffs.

People really overrated how much of a difference playing in a dome makes over the course of one's career, or even a season. All the greatest statistical QBs played outside and a lot of them played in cold weather environments. Peyton played poorly in New England because Belichick has always had Peyton's number and because the Patriots DBs used to get away with murder. But lets not turn this into another Manning v. Brady thread, we have had enough of those.
