Booooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! to the Danny Watkins selection

I wanted to personally boo the Danny Watkins pick. You don't draft a 26 year old rookie in the 1st Round! He will be 30 in 4 years. 30 is the age of a veteran player who should have been in the league for approx 6 years already.

I'm not too bumbed about it because we are protecting Vicks backside. The only problem I have with the pick is if we do not get Nnamdi we f*cked ourselves over by passing on Jimmy Smith & Brandon Harris TWICE!

I am ok with the pick I think we could of traded down early second and got him but don't know. He will probably play RG for us and the only complaint i have about him is that he is a bit older but even then he was the best guard in the draft in my opinion. He has the tools to be a probowler in 2 years and can start now. The Eagles need some talent on that side of the line now Not in a few years. I am going to do a full write up on the NFC eat forum addressing what else the birds did.

I didnt like it when it first happened, but Im warming up to it. I think he will be a solid pick, and be a good player for us.

I like the pick beside him being so old. The negs on the guy arent really bad, mainly being inexperience. The guy is nasty by nature by the reports, which I personally love.

I relate this draft to the kolb/law draft where its not really impressive but hopefully some ppl contribute like last year where 2 7th rounders started and did decent.

He's a guard, not a running back. Alan Fanaca just retired at 34. I'd be thrilled with 8 years out of Watkins. Maybe 6 if he's not as good, but still better than more than half of the teams will get from their first rounders this year. His age won't matter when it's all said and done.

People said the same thing about Pouha from the Jets, who was also 26. They didn't pick him as high, but he's the only player remaining on the roster from that draft class at 32 playing an important role on their defensive line.

Watkins and Jarrett should be starters on this team for a long time. In 3 years the rest of the picks (hopefully not Marsh) could be gone and people should still say we had a good draft because of those two at the top.
