Cliff Harris, CB, Oregon
Cliff is not an underrated prospect at all. Some rate him the #2 CB in this years Draft class, which speaks volumes, because that puts him ahead of Stephon Gilmore. A plus with Harris is that he can help out in the return game. The major negative I see when I look at him is, he is on the frail side in a Kelly Jennings mold. Some list him at 5'11'' 180 which is generous, because he looks to be on the 165lb. side.
2011 — Clocked 4.79 seconds in the electronic 40-yard (third amongst defensive backs) during winter conditioning.

A 170 lb corner who runs a 4.8? Um... Pass.
EDIT: I see a high school combine time for 4.60 via scout.com. I had to look it up, because I can hardly believe that he'd be that slow. Where are you getting that 4.79?

I had to take a second glance at the 40 time. I thought he would atleast run around a 4.5.

He has to be very very elusive as a return man, 4.79 is a Big SMDH & face palm for those who are high on him as a top CB prospect.

4.79 is something the school should not have posted, especially since he is their best CB prospect. This will hurt his stock, I expect Gilmore to be back ahead now.

There's no way that time is an accurate reflection of his speed.

Obviously something is fishy with that time. There is no way that Oregon has only two defensive backs that run sub-4.79.

The page says "third fastest," meaning there are only two others who timed faster than Cliff, which would mean they are "sub-4.79." That's really slow... so that other post is a joke. Really not buying that only three members of Oregon's secondary can break 4.8. That's what you'd find on a high school team.

I wonder if that's a typo. If someone entered it on the number pad, 7 is right above 4... I can see a 4.49 being the third fastest among defensive backs, but not a 4.79. Not at Oregon. That's just not right. And I think someone putting together profile pages for a school that just played in the national championship would have to know that a 4.79 is not something worthy of posting in a player's bio. I think I'm just going to go ahead and assume that time is wrong.

Has to be accurate for Harris.
College Football Live even spoke on LaMichael James the other day & here is his numbers from the school site.
2011 — Led all running backs on squat (465 pounds), bench press (295 pounds), electronic 20-yard (2.68 seconds), fly 30 (2.85 seconds) and electronic 40-yard (4.59 seconds) during winter conditioning

Your link said that his 4.79 would be third among Oregon DBs...
That means only two Oregon DBs run under 4.79.
Which is false.

Me personally I still would take a look at him. He is good zone corner IMO which he showed in the Aubrun game.

No one is accusing you of making this up. We're saying there's something wrong with the report.

Hopefully Scott or Shane sees this & can help clear this up.

It could have been ran on grass.
College 40s are useless, they are best utilized in comparison to their teammates. Florida and VT run faster 40s and Oregon may run slow 40s, but you can tell who is fast reguardless.
LaMichael James is fast. Harris runs .2 slower than him. So Harris probably runs late 4.5, early 4.6.
