Default Pick an enitre NFL team

Ok, since roster cuts are coming through at a bleedingly slow pace and we have just less than one more week until football starts I was thinking of something to keep me occupied.

Basically what you do is pick an offense, a defense, special teams (long snappers not included), an owner, a GM, a head coach, an offensive coordinator, a defensive coordinator and a special teams coordinator.

So, 11 offensive players, 11 defensive player, 4 special teams players and 6 others equals 32.

You can only pick a member of any organisation once.

Also try to pick offensive systems and players that fit the coaches. There is no point in picking all 34 players in a 34 style then having Perry Fewell as your defensive coordinator etc

Anyway, here's my attempt

QB: Aaron Rodgers - GB
RB: Steven Jackson - Stl
WR: Julio Jones - Atl
WR: Calvin Johnson - Det
WR: Andre Johnson - Hou
TE: Jermaine Gresham - Cin
LT: Tyron Smith - Dal
LG: Carl Nicks - TB
C: Mike Pouncey - Mia
RG: Mike Iupati - SF
RT: Eric Winston - KC

DE: Jason Pierre-Paul - NYG
DT: Marcel Dareus - Buf
DT: Red Bryant - Sea
DE: Jared Allen - Min
LB: Von Miller - Den
LB: Daryl Smith - Jac
CB: Darrelle Revis - NYJ
CB: Joe Haden - Cle
S: Eric Weddle - SD
S: Antoine Bethea - Ind
CB: Deangelo Hall - Was

K: Rob Bironas - Ten
P: Shane Lechler - Oak
KR: Devin Hester - Chi
PR: Patrick Peterson - Ari

Owner: Dan Rooney - Pit
GM: Ozzie Newsome - Bal
HC: Bill Belichick - NE
OC: Rob Chudzinski - Car
DC: Steve Spagnuolo - NO
STC: Bobby April - Phi

A team full of great to elite talents can work in any system, if there isn't any size limitations. How about a cap number of some sort to make it more challenging.

I got slightly worried for the other divisions in football when the top 3 players I wrote down (and subsequently also the first 3 players in this list position wise) all play in the NFC North. Luckily Darrelle Revis retored some sanity to it.

QB - Aaron Rodgers - GB
RB - Adrian Peterson - MIN
WR - Calvin Johnson - DET
WR - Larry Fitzgerald - ARZ
WR - A. J. Green - CIN
TE - Rob Gronkowski - NE
LT - Joe Thomas - CLE
LG - Carl Nicks - TB
C - Ryan Kalil - CAR
RG - Jahri Evans - NO
RT - Jake Long - MIA

DE - Justin Smith - SF
NT - Kyle Williams - BUF
DE - Haloti Ngata - BAL
OLB - DeMarcus Ware - DAL
LB - Brian Cushing - HOU
LB - Derrick Johnson - KC
OLB - Jason Pierre-Paul - NYG
CB - Darrelle Revis - NYJ
CB - Nnamdi Asomugha - PHI
SS - Eric Weddle - SD
FS - Earl Thomas - SEA

K - Rob Bironas - TEN
P - Shane Lechler - OAK
KR - Devin Hester - CHI
PR - Brandon Banks - WAS

OWN - Dan Rooney - PIT
GM - Thomas Dimitroff - ATL
HC - Jeff Fisher - STL
OC - Mike McCoy - DEN
DC - Greg Manusky - IND
STC - John Bonamego - JAX

^In a 34 D I'd rather have Dareus at NT than Kyle tbh.

Dareus is bigger but also taller while Williams is lighter but also shorter. It depends whether you are looking for leverage or pure heftiness. Either way it works. Both can play it.

In Baseball the object is to go home and be safe.

The thing about Kyle is his quickness off the line and getting up field. In a 34 u want a big butt who can stuff the run while he is okay at that it's not his best thing. In a 43 as an UT no doubt Kyle all day. He did play well at nt in 2010 but still is a pure 43 UT imo.

Two-tight end set on offense. More versatile and easier to isolate mismatches. Gronkowski and Davis can be devastating as blockers or receivers. Defense is capable of using multiple fronts and the back seven features some of the rangiest defenders in the league. Laurinaitis is the weak point, but heís still a smart linebacker thatís familiar with the scheme. Tomlin is in his perfect role as he can keep his finger on the pulse of the team without consuming himself in the Xís and Oís too much since those coordinators are some of the best of the best at it.
