I get your sarcasm, but that's not what this is about. Sorry that I mainly listed Cowboys examples which made you think that I only wanted to talk about the Cowboys, but I just went off of what I knew from the top of my head. Sadly, this is true. Hopefully his market isn't ridiculous. He's better than PFF numbers say he is, but he's certainly not a franchise LT. Give me Will Beatty any day.

1. NO can't afford to franchise anyone.
2. Bushrod is only an average LT who's going to get paid like an elite one. His play last season was comparable to the LT the Bears already have.
3. The Bears may be able to get him in under the cap this season, but they really can't afford the contract he's going to get in the two years following, anyway. No one with any knowledge of the cap situation thinks CHI would sign a marquee LT this season.
4. I guarantee multiple solid LTs hit FA this season. There are just too many with their contracts coming up on teams in cap trouble. See: Beatty, Will / Dunlap, King / Baker, Sam.
