Default Most VALUABLE Pick in Any Round and Why?

Which player represents the best value in any round for your particular team? Take into account not just the player's rating, but the fit with the team. For instance, Ryan Nassib may or may not be a great value to in the 4th to the Giants depending on where you had him rated; however, he will be relegated to holding a clipboard for many, many years. Hence, he may have less actual value than his listed value.

For the Raiders, it's OT Menelik Watson in the second and the reasons are plenty:

- Fits a need at RT
- Rated a first round prospect by most counts, got him in the second
- Result of a trade down acquisition for a much needed 2nd round pick and his selection justifies the trade down.
- Grown man, will play sooner than later
- Tony Sparano will coach him up
- Upside is a Pro Bowl level player

Think about this one and tell us who ya got.

Shamarko Thomas.

Awesome value in the 4th, I had him among the best players available easily when day 3 started. hes exactly what they want from a safety, and we lost Will Allen and Ryan Mundy to the Cowboys and Giants...there was no depth behind clark (old, slow, cant play in denver) and troy (old, frail). Such an excellent trade up.

The steelers traded away a next year 3rd to get the 4th rounder, they havent traded away a future year pick in over 40 years. It was done with the assumption they will get a 3rd round comp for wallace, but still...40 years

LOVED that pick for you all. Tough as nails and of course, he's from the 757 so your coach has tabs on him.

Khaseem Green -- LB -- Rutgers

We got him in the fourth round and I actually think he is better than our 2nd round pick Jon Bostic. The Bears did sign James Anderson and D.J. Williams this offseason but I think before the season is over, Green will be a full-time starter.

LOVED that pick as well! I was telling my Giants fan friend about him about a month ago. I ams surprised he lasted that long. He is that tackling machine you all lack.

Reid Fragel in the 7th. Is about the only value pick for the Bengals. Everyone else they took went around where they should have been taken.

Schwenke in the 4th. Odds are he'll either start immediately or at least very quickly, and push Fernando Velasco back to a backup swing G/C where he belongs. Loved that we made that pick.

That interior of the line went from probably the worst in the league to potentially the best in a short period of time.

For Seattle i'll go with Jesse Williams, adds some needed depth in the rotation and i just like all the tattoos.

I was going to say Jesse Williams, too, because we needed someone immovable in the middle, and he's a lot like Red Bryant. I really didn't expect to get him in the 5th, but a serious knee problem would explain that pretty succinctly. What's the deal with his knee?

The Williams/Simon combo was awesome for Seattle in the 5th. Great hit on needs and values. Simon will end up replacing Browner and being a similar player IMO.

Johnathan Franklin in the fourth round. Arguably the draft's best running back and he, along with Lacy, fill a significant need for the Packers.

The only thing with that is they took a RB a round ahead of him. Didn't quite get that.

No, they needed to take another RB or have another RB on the roster to complement Lacy. Scouts have continually pointed to Lacy's ongoing medical concerns since high school, and said he played just two games at 100% last year. There's also concerns about his interviews, while he does check out, he doesn't have the mindset to carry the load in the NFL. All Alabama players come out dinged up so in order to get the most out out him, they took the perfect RB to pair with him. Franklin is a complete back, as is Lacy, but Lacy will handle the carries between the tackles. Both are solid in pass protect, Franklin better.

Just what I've gathered through comments from the Packers brass.

James Starks, Alex Green, Dajuan Harris. Not a bunch you feel comfortable with heading into the season. Add in the top two complete RBs from this class then you open up a great TC competition. They added another dimension to their offense assuming health.

Also, Kuhn turns 31 in September, he's entering the last year of his contract, and he wasn't very good last year. Furthermore, the Packers are phasing out the fullback position in favor of H-Backs like DJ Williams and Ryan Taylor. I see Lacy taking over the power running responsibilities, and he's solid enough as a receiver and pass protector that he could seriously cut into Kuhn's playing time. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Lacy, Franklin, and DJ Williams in the inverted wishbone next season.

The team had an opening for at least two running backs. I wouldn't have been shocked to see them take a third.

There is no question about that.

Well it was actually two rounds and I think the value was too much to pass up. Not to mention Lacy has some injury concerns so I guess it would make sense on that front.

Kaepernick is this years pat white. Thin, gimmick offense and doesn't possess an nfl arm. The ncaa constantly regurgitates clones of past players and amazingly enough, tricks some people into thinking they're better than their cloned half. Kaepernick was a complete waste of a senior bowl qb spot. A better qb will come from the east/west shrine or whatever they're calling it now...count on it

Robert Woods - WR - 2nd Rnd

Woods can run any route, and has gamebreaking ability. Everyone knew we needed a WR to complement Stevie, and him falling into our laps in the 2nd rnd was perfect.

Lotulelei was pure joy for me to see go to the Panthers, what luck... Top 3 player in this draft IMO, going at 14 is pure gold IMO.

Thomas was who I hoping would be the pick at Duke Williams pick for Buffalo. Great pick for Pittsburgh.

I think the Bears got fantastic value with Marquess Wilson in the 7th round. He is a very good receiver who had late 1st-mid 2nd talent but fell hard after quitting his team and blaming it on the coaching staff. We knew he would fall, but I don't think anyone thought he would fall past the 5th round. Besides that, I think he is a good kid, and there was no part of me that didn't believe him when he talked about how abusive Mike Leach was. I think he will complement Marshall and have a lot of success there.

Could be the absolute steal of the draft but you have to consider that teams did their homework and had some serious doubts about the kid.

If I don't go with Arthur Brown for the Ravens then TACKLE might implode. Regardless he was one of the guys I really wanted at 32 but to still get him at 56 is awesome. Brown will likely be a starter from day one and he has the skills they've been missing at that position since Lewis slowed down a few years ago.
