Rams News: Setterstrom to RG, Incognito to C, Rams claim Gradkowski off of waivers
Pro Football Talk and NFL Network are reporting the Rams have nabbed former Tampa Bay quarterback Bruce Gradkowski off of waivers, an immediate upgrade to our #3 QB spot over Brock Berlin.
It also appears the Setterstrom-to-center experiment may be done, as Setterstrom looks to open training camp in competition for the right guard spot. Former right guard Richie Incognito will now be competing with Brett Romberg to start at center. Shuffling subject to change, as always, but it doesn't appear as if Setterstrom will be anything more than an emergency center barring big training camp strides.

With the news that LeCharles Bentley got released from his contract, do you think the rams have enough cap room to sign him and let him work into the center spot? He is still young and a high reward player if those knees can hold up.

They probably have enough room to sign him, but it wouldn't really make much sense. It is extremely unlikely that he will be the same player he was, there is a reason the Browns released him, and they already have Incognito, Romberg, and Fry at C. It's possible that he may bounce back to what he was, but if there was any realistic possibility of that the Browns wouldn't have cut him.

Isn't it because he requested it? I mean, he took a physical for them and I think went through a practice and then asked for a meeting where he wanted his release.
I guess you could say that the Browns could have kept him, but even if he looked good, do you want to keep a guy on your team who doesn't want to be there? Especially when they have a guy at that position they're comfortable with in Fraley?
Our center job is still wide open, so I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in to see what he has and what he can add to the competition. If Bentley is healthy, I think there's a solid chance he could bring more to the table for the Rams than Romberg or Fry would.
On the flip side, I'm also kind of excited about Incognito back at center with Setterstrom to his right. So really I'm indifferent, but I can see a reason behind an interest in Bentley (which to my knowledge I haven't heard of any).

Brock Berlin will keep his #3 spot you watch, maybe even take over number 2.

Well I admit, I haven't really payed attention to Bentley. If he requested a release then I guess it makes a bit more sense.

I'm glad they left Setterstorm at his natural position at OG and not moving him to center

Romberg will beat out Incognito.
I dislike Incognito, he's an overrated player who kills drives with his dumb decision making. Everytime he comes into my work I want to be like...."Hey man! You Suck!"....but then I see that he's a monster and think better of it.

I'm not a huge fan of him either, but I think in a straight up competition, Incognito probably has the edge over Romberg. If Richie could ever get a good head on his shoulders, he might be something. But you're right, he has a tendency - as does Barron - to kill drives with some pointless penalties. Ultimately though I think he's better than Romberg, who really strikes me as just a marginal to average starter.

The difference is that Romberg has extremely limited potential and Incognito could turn into something impressive.

Incognito has potential, but it's been like 3 years and he still hasn't matured into anything other than just an average Offensive Lineman. I'd take Romberg, he's an average offensive lineman and doesn't kill drives by his idiotic penalty taking.

Not so sure I agree with this. I think from a talent standpoint, there's a noticeable difference between Incognito and Romberg. Neither of them are great, but I think Incognito is definitely more talented with more potential. I view Romberg as simply marginal at this point.
Besides, Incognito's going to be on the field somewhere, even if you take Romberg @ center. Because then Richie will just shift back to guard and start there over Setterstrom. So it's kind of a moot point because he'll be on the field somewhere regardless, I would think.
