Report says Rams looking for possible buyers

A story Monday in the weekly SportsBusiness Journal reported that Moag & Co., an investment bank and advisory firm in Baltimore that specializes in sports-related issues, has been employed by the Rams "to find a group of possible buyers."

Rams President John Shaw declined to say whether the report was accurate. "I’m not going to comment on what we have or haven’t done," Shaw said. "Basically the only thing I can reiterate is what Chip (Rosenbloom) has said all along, that we’re not actively seeking to sell" the team.

Usually when rumors of owners checking out the market for their team it's true. I am getting a little bit worried about the Rams status in St. Louis. I hear that they are supposed to have a stadium ranked in the top 8 or something, but right now it's one of the worst. Hopefully a team gets to LA before the Rams have a chance (that's you Jacksonville and New Orleans). If they do leave just because of the stadium thing I might have to turn in my fan card, because that is a bogus thing to do.

Rams back to LA? It seems like such a tired, rehashed, pull it out of my butt idea...but it makes too much sense. LA is one of the biggest markets in all of the US and they have no NFL team. I guess it doesn't help that the Rams are in a bit of a slump in the wins column, they have to right that ship real quick or things could get ugly.

The Saints and the Jags are playoff contenders so I don't think they are going anywhere. Plus, the Jags just had the Superbowl a couple of years ago. And there has to be some sort of mercy rule going on in the big easy.

I do think there is a mercy rule in place with the Saints, but by the time talks of the Rams leaving got very serious that rule/stance will have faded away. As for the Jacksonville, it doesn't matter that they are playoff contenders and had the Superbowl. In fact, that might hurt them since the team has been damn good recently and they still have problems selling out games.
