DT Claude Wroten suspended for a year

Posted tonight about four hours ago on their website, so I'm waiting for additional confirmation. But if true, what a waste of talent.

Confirmed, suspended for the year by the NFL and can't reapply until May of '09.

Well, so much for the amazing depth at DT. They should still be fine at DT, but it is unfortunate. I'm not going to be surprised if they just release him. Gameday D-lineman now look to be Little, Long, Hall, Adeyanju, Glover, Carriker, and Ryan. Eric Moore is probably the next in line if they want to carry 8 gameday guys. I think Adeyanju could do alright with some spot duty at DT.

So much for a big youth movement and Glovers playing time going down. Hw will get a lot more snaps than expected.

He'll probably get about as many as last season, which was his best year since '04. If anything this means more reps for Ryan @ NT so Carriker can shift over and give Glover a break. Wouldn't be surprised to see Adeyanju get more reps at DT as well.

Maybe one of the young camp bodies (Vernon Bryant, Willie Williams, Joshua Thompson) shows enough to provide some added depth as well. And then you've also got anyone that could come during roster cut downs that could be added for depth.

Wroten really hasn't done much as a pro, replacing him shouldn't be difficult.
