they have a great offence and a more than proper d line, with a couple of good defensive players behind them and a couple of mediocre ones yes, but show me a team that doesn't have a weakness. They would probably give up a couple of points each game but they should score like hell.

Basically depending on how much Vilma plays, and if he signs a contract extention, the Jets would get the Saints second round pick and the Giants would get their first.
Actually, Loomis (The Saints GM) was on a local radio station yesterday and basically stated this but in other words...

The Jets would only get a 3rd round pick in return, if Vilma works out for us and signs a contract. A 2nd round pick was never in the discussion, that was just speculation. This was even on a Jets site as well, back when the trade was recent.

The radio host even said this "So, next years draft if everything works out is...a 1st round, 4th round, another 4th round (from Vilma trade if he works out), and a 7th round? and Loomis stated "Yes".

They should just move to a Tampa Two full time and be done with it. It suits their high tempo offense. It suits their defensive personnel. It suits them since they play in a dome on turf. It just makes too much sense for it not to have happened yet.

Eh, we could or we could replace our D Coordinator with someone who has a clue on how to run a defense.

Since we’re on the topic of numerology regarded traded players, we’ve learned (and confirmed via a super-secret source) that tight end Jeremy Shockey has dropped No. 80, which he wore with the Giants.

With the Saints, he’ll instead wear No. 88, which was his jersey number in college, at Miami.

We’re told that Shockey didn’t try to make a deal with Saints tight end Mark Campbell to keep No. 80, and that Shockey instead opted for the new/old number.

We can’t recall whether No. 88 was taken on the Giants roster when Shockey was drafted in 2002, and we don’t have access right now to our 2002 NFL Record & Fact Book, which would allow us to answer the question quickly. But No. 88 has been available during Shockey’s tenure in New York, if he had wanted to switch.

UPDATE: No. 88 was being worn by Ike Hilliard when Shockey was drafted.
... Well then.

The whole world loves neophyte athletic tight end Jimmy Graham from Miami with the 95th pick. "Best pick in the draft,'' one AFC coach told me. "Give him time, and in that offense, he'll be better than [Jeremy] Shockey by the start of next year.''

Shockey was brought in my Accorsi and really was a pet project. Accorsi even went to his home town, met his family, had food with him and fought tooth and nail to get him in the draft. Once he arrived he spent a lot of time arguing with coaches and other members of the staff to keep Shockey on the team and to not reprimand him for certain things.

Once he retired I thought Shockey's days were numbered. The NY media though blew a lot of issues between him and coughlin and him and the team out of proportion which is a bit of a shame since it makes him look like an uber twat instead of the regular kind.

a lot of ppl including myself and some others on this board have been saying this for a long time now.

when you invest most of your money into the offense you should compliment it with a cheap affordable easy to implement Tampa 2 defense.

NO, Cinncy, and maybe Cleveland should all convert to Tampa 2 defenses.

Also Wellington Mara was really close to him as well. Once he passed away I am sure it hurt Shockey. Both Shockey and Tiki both were really close and went to the Mara house.
