Jimmy Rollins enters the season attempting to break Joe DiMaggio's hitting streak of 56 games. He currently has a streak of 36 games. Which means he should either break the record this April or early May. The question is do you want Jimmy Rollins to break Joe DiMaggio's record or not? Do you think they should even count the record since last season ended and now beginning again? Who do you want in the record books?
I know he is still 20 games away and is a slow starter but anything is bound to happen.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't count since it is over two seasons. I think there is a completely different record for that. Though the press will tout it as so, but you know.

Records were meant to be broken, but I think DiMaggio's 56 was tougher than Rollins potential 56. Would be nice to see though..

He won't cause it is really hard to do that at the start of the season, because of the 5 month layoff

I'd love to see it because I heard Domaggio was a prick, but I doubt he will. 20 games is A LOT, especially right out of the gate.

He won't do it. He will lose his streak in the third game or so. Rollins is a career .272 hitter. It's gonna take someone like Pujols or Derrek Lee to break such a record. Power and average . . .
