Don't know where you're coming from on Deon, Burns. He is terrific, and actually gives us a guy who can catch and block for the first time since Richie Anderson. I'm genuinely confused.
As for our run D, let's not get too carried away. We've played solidly or even dominant in that aspect several times this year. Really, the St. Louis game is the only inexcusable performance we've had. That Giants team is ascending to All-Time status, so there's no real shame in getting run over by them (look what they just did to the mighty Ravens), the Skins have run on about everyone they've played, and those are the only 3 poor showings we've had, so it's not as bad as all that, really. Not as good, either, but yeah...
The pass D is quitely rounding into shape. We haven't had a bad game there since Arizona, and really, no one has been able to stop them lately anyhow. If Newman continues to play like he looked last night, and the youngsters don't regress, I think we are a top 5 pass D for the remainder of the season.
Finally, I was most happy to see the play of our offensive line. No big time breakdowns, no edge rushers getting a free run at our QB play after play, Flozell isn't dominating, but he got back to being at least solid. With that kind of protection and movement in the run game, I like our chances for the rest of the season.
