LJ says he wants out of KC
http://www.kansascity.com/sports/chi...ry/955454.html
“Hopefully, my future is not with this organization,” Johnson said after rushing 10 times for 18 yards. “The things that have been going around, I’m not saying it’s (all) their fault. Half of it is mine with off-the-field (stuff) and other things that go on.
“On the football field, my role definitely diminished once I got back. I felt like I wasn’t getting as much (work) as I thought I could and helped as much as I could. They shifted their powers to other players on this team offensively. You kind of feel your time is up in this city and with this team.”
“It’s the environment,” he said. “It’s got everything to do with the environment. It’s what everybody needs. The city is tired of me. The organization has kind of run its course (for him). It’s time to move on regardless of what kind of changes they could make. I’ve been here when they made other changes. It’s just time to let go.”
“I’ve had two or three 65-yard runs, and I hadn’t had that when I was 21,” Johnson said. “There’s definitely nothing about me wearing down, After I came back, I was on point to get over 1,000. When you have 12 (rushes) for 108 (yards), that says a lot as far as I’ve still got a lot more left.”

I don't think he will be back unless he takes a pay cut which is unlikely his trade value has dropped big time and no team is going to take him on his current contract he will be playing for a lot less no matter where he is next year.

let him go and either sign Sproles or draft a RB and let Charles become the primary R.Jamaal fits this offense better anyway

I wouldn't want to touch him. Guy is a headcase.

Yeah Carl definitely kept the wrong "superstar".. could have gotten rid of LJ and kept one of the best DEs in the game. Hooray.
I hope LJ is either traded or cut. Tired of watching him run into his own blockers and give up. :)

I'm sure there is some team out there that would be willing to give KC a 1st or 2nd rounder for him.

What a complete scumbag. You signed a huge contract last year, you don't dictate anything and you should keep your idiot mouth shut.
Help your team win a game.

LJ is one of the best pure runners in the game. But with all his baggage, i wouldn't touch him with a 5 foot pole.
RBs are too easy to find to sweat him like that. No thanks.

fair enough. i haven't seen him other than highlights this year. i take it he really lost a step? i always thought it was just terrible blocking.

It mostly is, coupled with horrible playcalling. Is he the same back he was in 2005/2006? No, but I wouldn't say he's that much worse. The right side of our line is absolutely terrible but he has been decently productive when active this year.
A team will get itself a good football player, but like previously mentioned, a locker room cancer.

pretty vague, unquantifiable statement, i don't know how to say it better.
as a sidenote, the guy's very nearly 30. for that reason alone i don't want anything to do with him and his contract.
|
Wasn't the majority of his contract all in signing bonus? If that's the case, the team trading is just responsible for paying him while they choose to have him on the team. For a 4th round pick, i'm sure there's a team out there willing to see if he can play like he did few years ago.
