Heckert and Pioli are out of GM possibilities with the Mangini hire. Mangini is said to meet with Chud and Tucker [current Browns cordinators] and has spoken with Crennel about staying on board but no specific role was mentioned.

I would be really excited to see Crennel stay on staff. I like Crennel a lot and it was only a win-loss thing with him. He was a professional, and stated he WOULD stay depending on the circumstances and Brady Quinn said in an interview that he wouldn't see it as "weird" to have Crennel still be there.

Yeah but he didn't and said that he does want to stay in Cleveland.

It was one of those in the heat of the moments... If I remember correctly it went like this... Kellen got staph, Kellen gets hospitalized, Savage is only person who doesnt give a **** that one of his best players is in the hospital over another staph infection, Kellen comes back and plays the next week, finds out that he was on the trade block and flips out on Savage. Kellen then says "he almost asked for a trade" and that the staph infection was ridiculous.

I really don't think Kellen wants out of Cleveland, it was just one of those things in the heat of the moment... I could be wrong though and he is my favorite player obviously...

I like K2 a lot as well. He was my first jersey of a Brown. I honestly don't know if he wants to stay or not. I know the situation was over dramatic because of the whole "Savage told me to cover it up, Savage didn't even visit" but I like K2 a lot. I like what he brings to the table if only he'd block a little more.

What's with all the staph infections after injuries on the Browns anyway? Seems like alot of players get staph for you guys. Braylon and K2 spring to mind right away, but I know there have been a few others over the last three to four years.

Jurevicius, Bentley, Baxter, Tucker, and others have gotten staff too - some multiple times. Since we moved and came back we've been cursed, Damn Modell.

Well, according to NFL Network, Mangini will run the whole show for Cleveland and their new GM will only have limited responsibilities. Seems like Lerner didn't learn anything from the Butch Davis experiment. He still thinks a HC can draft well. Sad for Cleveland.

That's not exactly what they said, Jamie Dukes isn't very smart. I expect Kokinis to get personnel control, but Mangini is gonna have more input than Crennel had on the final roster to prevent the problems Savage and Crennel had with not picking players both agreed on.

From listening to Lerner on the radio yesterday, this seems to be correct. There was a disconnect between Savage and Crennel that will not be allowed to happen again. Mangini will have more of a voice in personnel matters, but that doesn't mean he'll have total control. I like what I am hearing and just hope it works.

If your going to have your Coach pick the GM it only makes sense that the Coach would have more authority than the GM.

I think it was more along the lines of the coach recommending the GM and the GM will get normal personnel control, but they will work together more to pick the team than what we had before. Of course this means Kokinis and Mangini will be joined at the hip in terms of their future with the team.

what the the Browns fans opinion on the signing of DaBoll? I mean he was the WR's coach for New England for 4 years, didnt do much there (however, did work with Mangini) and then move to New York with Mangini to be quaterbacks coach, never really did a great job there either. What do you guys think he will bring to Cleveland? what type of offense?

offense like Charlie Weis runs at ND and ran at NE. Brady Quinn's offense he ran in college, except the pro version of course. It's good to have a QB coach for Quinn's sake.

The problem is, what happens if they disagree. I don't care how close they are, differences of opinion always occur and who has the finsl say. From what I'm seeing I'd guess Mangini will have the final say.
