1. I think its a dead period so he cant visit the school
2. Maybe
3. Maybe
4. Probably. I think his parents would be able to tell better than he would.

quite sure that its not a dead period we are getting a visit from jawanza starling this week (although its not on either of the recruiting networks but i believe he comes tuesday or something) but yeah i agree with the maybe's and the prolly. But still the parent had to lease their own car and drive trough an awfull snow storm just to get there, which means he is seriously considering it in my (biased) opinion

I don't know, I can only imagine we are counting on a lot of 2010 guys. We have Lo Wood all but locked up and we're probably counting on guys like Dior Mathis, Tyler Blandin, and Cullen Christian.

It still cracks me up to watch a kid get a USC offer then skyrocket up the charts.

It's even funnier how it impacts recruiting with the actual schools. USC will ignore a kid, then see UW or UCLA offered, revisit the tape, and offer. Then the national schools start looking. Or Ole Miss offers a kid and then LSU and Alabama follow suit. The domino effect sounds foolish but it does make sense. It's hard to go with your gut feeling on a kid with no major offers when there are so many athletes out there and you could be stuck with him for 4/5 years.

Devin Gardner got an offer from Notre Dame now. IMO he's gonna be a Buckeye, especially with Tajh Boyd going to Oregon.

Our biggest goal however is jake heaps at qb that is. We seem to have a great shot at him. I wouldnt rule ND our for Gardner but the buckeyes are favourites ( ). Same story (henderson=heaps) with andrew norwell for OT.

Wonder if how Pete Carroll acted at Mark Sanchez's press conference will turn off any recruits?

Happens all the time with defensive backs that VT offers. Especially the unknowns in the Carolinas.

Makes sense. He looks like Boston College in the Jags situation.

it does seem much more likely that he's simply reopening his recruitment than him not being able to get entry into Illinois... i think it will all depend on who Illinois gets as the new DL coach, but i don't think there's too much to worry about with him.

that said, I don't blame Sanchez for going pro, and I don't blame Carroll for anything that he said.
Although I don't know why Carroll really cares since it's not like he's hurting for QB talent.
I wonder who will start for them. Mustain has some experience already, but then there's Corp, and Barkley as well coming in. Should be interesting.

yeah, the only guys I will say are locks for Ohio State in 2010 right now are Jamel Turner (committed), JT Moore (committed), Darryl Baldwin, Andrew Norwell, and Scott McVey. I got a good feeling about Gardner, Matt James and Ken Wilkins. Some think James could wind up at Notre Dame b/c he goes to St.X - a catholic school. Spencer Ware is a mystery, he seems like he wants to go to Georgia or maybe Tennessee, but we will go after him hard. William Gholston may or may not get an offer, and even if he did he's very tight with MSU.

Yea I heard about Drummond possibly not being able to qualify as well and that's a kick in the pants because word from his school was that he was going to qualify no problem which is why we took him. Pretty ****** situation IMO.
Now he'll go to the SEC (aka no matter what your test score, we'll take you as long as you can play) Conference. We have very high academic standards at Illinois. Here's to hoping Craig qualifies because he's a beast.

McVey is all but a done deal to Ohio State. He likes Boston College as his #2 choice, but he'll pick the Buckeyes sometime this spring or summer at the latest.

Good news btw for Matt James for you, with the way the Irish OT class in '10 is going the chance is quite big that we dont even need him, we have a commit from 5* lombard and are doing really well with a bunch of other OT's so i really think he might not even get an offer
