TRADES
So now that we have addressed our C and CB and resigned Ray we obviously need depth at OL and DB but we need to address the WR.
Word is the Cardinals would let go of Boldin for a 2nd Rd Pick and a player if its not a High #2 pick. Would our #1 be too high a price to trade to the cardinals for Boldin????
I would pull the trigger if we could get him here and sign him long term.
Thoughts?

I'd be willing to second rounder, but I'd rather keep our 1st. Boldin may be the perfect fit for us, let's not forget his injury concerns as well as attitude, although attidude might not be a problem here since he will get tons of playing time. I'd love him as a raven but I can't see ozzie doing it. For the remainder of the offseason, we will more likely add depth and true solid "football players" rather than going all in for a superstar WR. That way we fill in more needs which really makes the draft a bonus in terms of adding talent to the team.

I'd gladly give up our #1 for Boldin. Think about it, we all, for the most part, want DHB or Nicks with our #1, why take the risk and have one or both of them bust when we could get a proven commodity with the 26th pick.

I wouldn't mind doing it but if we could give up a 2nd and someone like Griesen I would want to do that.

It would never work, because by "a player" they don't mean and aging LB who's never been able to hold a starting job. They want someone who can play for them and make major contributions.

Thank you, I don't know why people can't get this. You get a proven elite WR instead of hoping and praying that whoever you take at #26 doesn't bust.

I would love to see DHB walk in and be a All Pro.. but reality is he has a higher chance of catching 20 some odd balls this year and zippy TD's then to put up numbers to be our #1 guy..

Martellus Bennett from the Cowboys has been a hot topic supposedly at the Raven's HQ to come in and be the our starting TE or at least be backup to Heap.. he is under contract with them so we have to trade for him..
Anyone know anything about him?? What would it take to get him if we did trade for him? 4th rder?
Plus Torry Holt has been mentioned more then once in rumors milling around that he is going to get released. Then we would pick him up. What is everybody think about that move?

I agree... not sure if thats going to happen as they are now in discussions to extend him and he has backed off the trade demands now.
BUT I WOULD LOVE TO GET HIM IN PURPLE AND BLACK !!!

Martellus Bennett is a decent guy skill wise, guess it would depend on what we would have to give up to get him.

If we trade for Boldin he's going to need a big new deal...
Something is going to need to be done with Suggs and Ngata soon, and with Haynesworth's deal, and the one D-Ware is going to get, the market is going to be insane. We'll need as much cash and cap space as possible.

We won't be giving anyone a $100million dollar deal.. we will get Suggs and Ngata done before D-Ware and we will set the market. We aren't stupid if we do that we are cutting ourselves short by giving 20% of the cap to two defensive players with a budding superstar QB that is going to command a huge deal as well. Ozzie is smart and he understands its about the Team and we draft guys that are understanding of that as well... so we won't have a Haynesworth situation on our hands.
