I must be the only guy who would not be excited to have Jaws in there. I just don't like the way that he presents things on air. His voice is annoying, his vocal inflection and emphasis, everything. And Collinsworth--that goes without saying. I would, however, be excited to hear Millen in the booth. I feel he does a good job.

Or how about Howie Long? That guy has a great on-air personality. He could be very good.

I feel the same way. Howie Long and Millen are the only ones that I would suggest right now.

Which is incredibly funny because it would be passed down from one Raider great to another. Millen was not on the same level as Howie Long, but he people forget that he was actually a key member in the middle of the Raider defense for years.

Bring Brian Billick to Monday Night Football. His future is in broadcasting - not coaching. He could be the next Madden if he wanted to.

i agree. i totally hate jaws. he might be my least favorite broadcaster. i have not seen enough of millen to pass judgment, however.

i want to hate brian billick so much, being a browns fan and b/c he seems so arrogant, but i have really liked him on nfl network, especially at the combine. i wouldn't be against it at all.

A true icon. I would also prefer Millen or a guy like Howie Long over jaws, I just think his voice is annoying.

zomg, they could start a new franchise together. Madden can be the owner and Favre could be the GM, since he enjoys wanting to talk about what a GM should do.

Question

I have a hunch it has something to do with the recent passing of Harry Kalas and it dawn on Madden that he needs to spend more time with the family. He don't want to die in the booth he's 73..

I actually really like Billick as an analyst. He gives some insightful comments and he knows how to break down an offense.

I'm going to miss the insanely basic logic that Madden presented.

"They're either going to run the ball here, or they're gonna pass it"

Genius!

John Madden's long awaited retirement kicked off on Thursday, April 16th as the Football Legend and long-time NFL starting QB Brett Favre have completed their civil union and will be traveling through canada on the Bus, trying to find the next great QB with more arm strength than braincells.
