Red face and our biggest need....is still our biggest need

OLB... our biggest need....is still our biggest need.

Despite having 4 picks today. Despite a pass rush specialist in Everette Brown falling into our laps over and over. Despite the rumored Conner Barwin love. Despite the Virginia connections to Al Groh and Clint Sintim.

Nothing. If Jason Taylor for some reason does not sign with us.... look forward to another season without pressuring other teams QBs. Tully Banta Cain, an unproven Pierre Woods and unproven Shawn Crable. yay!

I'm not dissapointed in who we picked. But I am disappointed we didnt pick up any OLB considering who was on the board.

IN BB WE TRUST? Yeah, that's what everyone said when we picked Maroney and Chad Jackson.

I always knew that BB had some faith in our young linebackers, but I didn't know he had this much faith. I like our drat so far but we passed on some legit LB talent on several occassions yesterday.

I have no faith in Pierre Woods and Tully Banta Cain.
Crable...meh. If BB had so much faith in him, he wouldnt have redshirted him last season.

The staff must really, really like Crable because that was sort of undependable yesterday, unless they know something we don't. They usually do...but it was painful to watch.

It really wasn't a need, as I'd said before. I liked the idea of Matthews or Barwin, but LB really wasn't a big need like some people seem to think (for whatever reason). They addressed the real needs (OL, S, CB, WR), and got some great players in the 2nd round.

It's not just Crable. They love Woods. They see him as the next big thing. They also really like TBC back in their defense. They also have Redd (who's a ******* beast), Guyton, and Ruud (ILB, obviously).

Also, Everette Brown, as I've said, does not fit in a 3-4 at all. Dude just doesn't have the hips to do it. Same thing as Darryl Tapp (or Dwight Freeney - same ******* thing).

What has Pierre Woods ever done to indicate that he can be a productive player? He's been in the league four years and has done next to nothing besides being a decent backup and special teams guy. I don't think the staff expects to see him starting at all. We know what he is. We've known what he is for three years.

As far as Redd goes, how much of him have any of us actually seen him play? The physical skills are exciting but we have next to no idea if they'll actually transfer to playing quality football at the NFL level.

The staff is extremely high on Woods. Whenever someone mentions something about linebackers to Belichick, he just goes off on a tangent about Woods.

Redd is the 4th guy I mentioned...and he's got way more potential and experience than anyone they could have had at any point in this draft.

More potential and experience than Clay Matthews and Connor Barwin, both of whom are more athletic and have experience against actual competition in college? Potential I can sort of buy. Experience, no. Redd has a ton of physical ability, but you have to assume he isn't going to reach his potential until he does. I would love for him to be a 6'6 260 pound mauling sack machine, but you don't see undrafted small school players become those guys all that often. It happens, but you don't count on it to happen.

As far as Woods goes, Woods is the type of player the staff loves. He can play multiple positions adequately and be effective on special teams. He's a valuable player. He is NOT a starter though, especially at OLB where he lacks the natural pass rush skills for the position, and I think pretty much everybody knows that at this point.

Redd's been in the NFL for a year and actually played every year he was in college. He has more experience (by far) than Clay Matthews, who struggled to get on the field until 2008 and Connor Barwin, who was a TE until 2008.

Level of competition. You can't underestimate how much of a big deal that is.
