Well, to specify! The DL is a 4-3 1-gapper that utilizes a NT, a 3-tech UT, and small pass-rushing DE's. No clue on the aggressiveness of the LB's, but that should be dependant on the effectiveness of the Front 4 in creating pressure. DB's should be classic Tampa 2.
You need to look at some old Bucs threads....
Kiffin doesn't use small pass rushing DEs. Rice & Adams (RDE) are both 6'5" 265ish. The LDE is usually more of a specialized run stopper like Greg Spires, Kevin Carter, Marques Douglas, DeWayne White, etc. On passing downs the LDE usually comes off and gets replaced by a smaller pass rush specialist. Pressure is supposed to come from the RDE mainly with help from the UT and LE. Those 3 should have the highest sack numbers. The MLB and CB blitz occasionally, but the goal of the defense is to get pressure from the front 4.
The MLB drops off the farthest and covers that middle seam area underneath and between the 2 safeties. The depth might change, however, considering the drop-off in arm strength in college QBs and the range of a guy like Eric Berry.
To run the defense effectively you need good pass rushing RDE & UT. NT & LDE that can stack against the run. LBs that flow and cover well. CBs aren't that important but you need a guy who can cover the slot in nickel. Safeties should be smart and have range. SS needs some size to run blitz effectively.
