Dewayne White information
He's a Free Agent and the Rams said they'd like to sign him.
I'm wondering, how is he? Is he good? Did he start all season? Just some basic information
Thanks!

I have always liked White, he seems to make the most of his time when given the opportunity. He started 8 games last season (I think), but that was only because of the injury to Simeon Rice.
Ultimately, in the minds of the TB coaches (Kiffin and until last season Marinelli), he wasnt better than Greg Spires. That to me says everything about the overall ability of White.
The Bucs really have no depth or youth on their DL, and likely wont even make White a serious offer. Im sure that they would like to keep him, but not at the money he will get on the open market.

He was never a consistent every-down defensive end, & I guess it says something that he never started over Spires. He did make some big plays on occassion, and he is an okay starter, but nothing special. For a team like the Rams, they need more than DeWayne White to stop the run and rush the passer. You guys need to get a franchise End through the draft, trade or FA. I don't see White being an upgrade over Victor Adeyanju either.

Dewayne WHite is going to be a very strong starter for someone, and fans of his team will love what he brings. Forced fumbles, fumble recoveries, sacks, INTs, TDs, blocked field goals, he's kind of a dirty player but he has a great motor and is a very good athlete. Some Bucs fans are selling this guy short, and it is going to be a mistake when White signs with someone else and Simeon Rice is still stealing pay checks

Did anyone notice he didn't have 1 sack in a game that he started?

Are you suggesting White is better than Rice? Did you see what kind of value guys like Justin Smith and Charles Grant carry? Simeon Rice is still one of the best pass rushers in the league, and is valuable even at his current $ tag and his current age.
In saying that, Rice has one year left on his deal, and the Bucs are more than a year away from being a playoff contender. I think that they should trade Rice, and snag some value before he is able to walk next offseason (see Warren Sapp). You might get a 2nd round pick for Rice.

I agree, trade Simeon now, draft a rookie in the 2nd and then go from there.
