Donnie Avery out 4-6 Weeks
Saw this on ESPN.com and NFL Network at about the same time...this is really bad this leave Laurent Robinson and (most likely) Ronald Curry as our starting WRs and Burton as our slot man, not the worst WR corp I've ever seen but still, this could hinder what could've been a great year for the years...damnit all, Avery was going to be huge this year

Doh! This hurts bad, I love Avery and think he's going to be a stud. But he should come back fine.
Foster is looking good, he's definitely opening some eyes up, and this injury might force him into some plays.

Still early enough that it shouldn't impact his season..hopefully he'll be ready to go for the opener in Seattle. At least Laurent Robinson and Keenan Burton have been having strong training camps so far..Rams should be ok.

It is unfortunate, but it doesn't hurt as bad as OP seems to think, as long as he is back in 4-6 weeks. If he misses 4 weeks he is available for week 1, but I'll just expect 5 weeks and missing a game.

It's supposedly a stress fracture, which worries me a bit. Hopefully the injury doesn't last longer than the six week mark.
Right now, Burton and Robinson seem to be penciled into the starting line-up. Curry is still trying to separate from the rest of the pack. I haven't really heard anything about Foster.
We'll probably get a better idea @ the first pre-season game.

It is a shame you guys are relying on Laurent because of his health concerns and seeming inability to play through injuries. I'm glad he seems to be doing so well in camp after souring in Atlanta. I think he would be best in the slot for the NFL.

Stress fractures scare me too. I seem to remember them lingering and being a constant nuisance and taking a while to get back to normal. Kinda like a hamstring that lingers and keeps popping up sporadically throughout the season/career.

Hard to tell how this affects Steven Jackson's fantasy value. Up as the team will rely on him more... Or down as teams stack 8 or even 9 in the box.
If the injury prolongs, I really don't think any other WR takes advantage. I just think the passing game will suck.

I don't think it will have too much of an impact really. Even if Avery is out 6 weeks he is only missing two games. If anything I would bet that the Rams just lean on Jackson a bit more for a game or two, which would help him in fantasy. Then I'm guessing things would be back to normal, which would still be Jackson getting a lot of touches I assume.
