Perrilloux will never learn
So much talent wasted.
Quote:
Jacksonville State University quarterback Ryan Perrilloux has been suspended for the Gamecocks' season-opener at Georgia Tech for a violation of team rules in the spring, head coach Jack Crowe said Friday morning.
Crowe said Perrilloux had violated one of the requirements he had agreed to as a condition to his transfer from LSU before last season. "He was put in an 'at-risk' category -- and that's a very general statement, sort of a standard term -- and when you fall in that category you fall under stricter controls and you expect that kind of scrutiny.

And to think, he could have gone to UT, sat for a year (or two), and taken over after Vince Young.

Wow what an idiot. This was his showcase game to show scouts he was reformed as a person and improved as a QB, sorry no shot at the NFL now if he ever had one.

If you are a UT player, you get away with a lot in Austin. But that goes for a lot of major schools all over the country.

He had a chance to. It's not like Colt McCoy and Perriloux are that far apart as far as talent goes. Perriloux had the arm and athleticism.

Perrilloux has special ability, but a 10 cent brain.
btw, isn't the story that McCoy was going to LSU if Perrilloux stuck with UT?

No, it was between UT, A&M and I want to say Georgia Tech; but Perrilloux went to LSU earlier on in the process and made the choice easy for Colt. It wasnt like they had another QB recruited that year. They were hoping it was going to be Perrilloux and then Colt as his career back up.

fwiw i heard Colt was a verbal to LSU for a good while...
this is from tigerbait back in the day...

*** As reported on TigerBait.com last night, Texas’ other quarterback commitment Colt McCoy is also visiting LSU on the last weekend of the month. I do believe that Perrilloux is going to sign with LSU but if he does not, I believe that McCoy will have LSU paperwork and it’s possible he would then sign with the Tigers. I think it’s probable that Texas does not sign both Perrilloux and McCoy. One will be at LSU and the other will be at Texas
