Yeah, I like Baroness, but based upon what I've heard of Minsk just from today (7 songs, Myspace isn't completely worthless, lol), I might like them better.

Check out Doomriders. I really dig them. Features members of Converge and Cave In. Kinda sounds like Danzig, Queens of the Stone Age, and Clutch all went out and got smashed together and decided to write music.

just a friendly reminder that number twelve is still godlike. Alexis Pareja is so ffffin talented it makes me sick.

at moments it's just so ripe emo, and then it just stops and goes all grind and math... and then that sweet overdriven lead guitar makes me all warm inside.

ive seen them a couple times, ******* great both times. and yes, pareja is insanely talented. it's a shame that one of their vocalist left the band, i've seen them with both and once with just jase.

I like the Minsk love. The last few albums have been great.

If you guys like them, check out Conifer. A bit more of a psychedelic influence, but they remind me of them instrumentally.

I couldn't make it halfway through that song with the vocals. I was digging the guitar though.

i might be in the minority.

but vocals are probably the least important/bothersome thing in a song, unless they're really shoddily done or are whoever the new guy is in Dillinger Escape Plan is.

Vocals are moderately important to me. If I don't like the vox I won't like the band, but I could say that about the sound of the instrumentation also.

I think it's generally too important for most people... because they have a history of easy listening and can 'relate' to the lyrics.

i'm just like. man, if the vocals sound cool, it's cool.

Loved Dethklok/Mastodon. Was a bad ass show. I currently cant hear and am fairly beat up. All in all good signs leaving a metal show.

The Fest 8 is descending on Gainesville starting tomorrow. Too bad I don't listen to punk or I'd be so excited for it. That being said, a portion of it will be presented free for students here on Halloween. Also, Torche, Coalesce, and Russian Circles (bands I've actually heard of) are playing at an different individual show and I'm tempted to check it out.
