Yes, Plummer has announced he plans to retire rather than play in Tampa Bay. But the Bucs and Broncos wrote a pretty interesting contract before the NFLPA got wind of what was happening. If Plummer reports this month to the Bucs, Denver receives a fourth-round pick. But if Plummer doesn’t report in March, the compensation is a seventh-rounder.

I know a 7th doesn't matter, but it's still a complete waste of a pick. That trade really pissed me off. Three's not a company.

IMO, no one other than Plummer, new about his "retirement plans", Denver obviously didn't, as soon as the rumour came out, Allen/Gruden, covered the posistion by signing Garcia, we hold Plummers "rights", and at 32 I'm not sure he's done yet, even if he sits out a year.

Also bare in mind, that once the season starts, and QB's start falling, people will come knocking on his, and Tampa's door.

I suspect he's relying on it!

On draft he could be moved, if the Texans take a day one QB they won't want Carr and they'll be eager to switch.
