Week 14 Minnesota
We are a good team right now the next 2 games will determine if we are a elite team and a force to be reckoned with in the Playoffs Magic number is 1 now to win AFCN
I would really like are passing attack get under way this week but it most likely wont happen because we of course will run 30-40 times aganist a tough Minneosta front. Minneosta secondary is banged up right now so for us to win i think we are going to have to pass to win. I think Minneosta holds Ced to less then 100 yards. Hall and Joesph can should be able to hold Rice and Berrian in check. Percy Harvin and Visanthe Shiancoe worry me Harvin against Trent Harvin will win that matchup Shiancoe we have trouble covering TEs all year and Shiancoe is haveing a good year with Farve at helm. I think we can hold Farve into check. AP is the factor in this game with no Peko AP should have a big game last week against a Avg RB in Kevin Smith he was getting Decent games with Peko out I am hopeing we dont have any stupid penalitys this week but wont happen Whitworth is bound to have a couple Holdings on Allen and some false starts
I think this game will be closer then other people think
With lack of a passing game and inability to run the ball effect
Minneosta 20 Cincinnati 17

The idea of no Peko with AD out there is scary. RB's actually get to the second level when Peko isn't there which is where AD does his damage.
I'm honestly not liking our chances in this one, mostly because of no Peko. I'm confident in the secondary to slow down Favre but that's hard to do if they're running the ball well.

I'd like to see Benson snap the Vikings 35 game streak of not allowing a 100 yard rusher. Would be kind of cool if you consider that he did it to Baltimore earlier this season.

Sims is no Peko but I think he will be adequate in the front line. We need to get Peko back by the Jets game. I am more nervous about the secondary with covering Harvin and Peterson out of the backfield. Even without Peko this defense is still a good one and needs to prove it once again this Sunday. One can argue that them not having Henderson is as much of a loss as us losing Peko.
Not too many people are picking us to win this one (sound familiar?) and I think Lewis will use this as a motivator. Our D needs to keep this to a close game, offense execute on controlling the clock then beat them in the 4th.
Who Dey!

After last night, it's officially the #1 rush defense in the league (Cincinnati) vs. the #2 unit in Minnesota. Can't remember/may not have been alive for the last time the Cincinnati Bengals led the league in rush defense and scoring defense.

Offense was awful, Oline didn't play well.
Defense was still pretty solid but just got beat down. Give me Peko back.
Joseph and Hall played amazing as usual.

quick notes: some one needs to pull the stick from Bob B and Marvin's ass pronto. We are way too conservative on offense. Our "struggles" are caused by being too predictable.

Yea, and we just seem to be wayyy off in the passing game. Palmer has been making some uncharacteristic decisions lately and the receivers havent been giving him much help either.

I think he lost faith in them outside Chad.
Coles just seems bewildered at times and doesnt want to be there it seems.
More and more I almost want to say draft Gilyard in the first just to give us something else.

I think we bought an overthehill player in Coles that has lost his passion for the game. I would love to see Simpson in his place next week. How does a guy that runs a 4.37 combine 40 become a 7 yd recevier?

One thing I have to say is that our corners are AMAZING. Leon and JJ are both complete studs. Those two along with Domata Peko are the lifeline for our Defense.

Simpson is never going to get his shot that was a wasted 2nd pick on a project guy when we could have had DeSean Jackson or Limas Sweed. If he cant play over 2 undrafted FA then he is never going to play.
Most of are picks in the draft need to be on offense side of the ball. First 4 or 5 picks we need to get a All Around TE, Deep Threat WR, All Around WR True Starting LT not a G playing T, RG
Fire Brat and find a way to keep Zimmer make him the HC if u have too in the Offseason if we have any hope of every being a true contender. Bring someone in that runs a balance offense and actually takes shots down the field insted of Running it 50+ times a game and throwning 20 5 yrd passes a game
Next Week against San Diego i dont have much hope we never play good on west coast anyway and SD is 16-0 in December since 2006
For us to somehow win this game i dont see it happening. There has to be a major change in the offense but Brat said he threw last years playbook i highly doubt that someone most likely threw it away and he dug it out of the trashcan. And when it does not change we better hope to be up at halftime because we have not scored a offense TD in 2nd Half for 6 games now

Tough loss - we got our butts kicked. I am sick of all the penalties. Vikings are a good team, Harvin would have made them that much better. I will say that Brinkley played well for them in filling in for Henderson which was huge and their dline was the best we've seen all year.
I said this before that were not throwing downfield due to the loss of Henry. Expected to see Coles fill this void somewhat but he has become insignificant in our offense, he can't he even block when asked, starting to miss TJ right about now. Palmer seems disconnected to his receivers at times which has me worried. Opposing teams must be able to see this also on tape which makes it even tougher for us from a game plan standpoint.
A win next week will help me forget yesterday. Its week 14 and things need to change now on the passing game and penalties, its a combo of better coaching and players executing better. My worry about Henry is that we don't have what it takes to do what we want in the passing game. Haven't commented on the draft yet, but if we don't resign Henry this becomes a priorty for us, someone in the 3rd/4th round that can stretch the field like Ford from Clemson.

This is so completely true. Peko is what makes the run D so nasty, you could tell he wasn't out there. Without him the defense is hardly above average.
Hall and JJ make so many things happen, put them out on an island and you don't have to worry. Both were making big time plays yesterday. If Peko was in there to stop the run a little bit it would've been a different game.
Regardless, Bratkowski is just awful. We've been complaining about him for years, just like Breshnahan.... We all complained that Bresh was too conservative and dull in his play calling, you see the results you get with a real coordinator in Zimmer.
Dump Bratkowski and sign anyone, I'll take Hue Jackson... Couldn't be any worse. I will say the fake reverse play was sweet and unexpected.
I can honestly say I wasn't surprised by the outcome yesterday. It wasn't really a huge game either. This week is twice as important. I like our chances much better vs. San Diego.

What I like about our chances next week is VJax being blanketed by Hall/JJ. I think we need to really jam Gates at the line.
LT and Sproles are big play threats more so than grinders and if we can keep their big plays down, we will be ok.

Actually a more alarming stat that I read on another board was that the Bengal's offense has only scored 5 tds in the last 63 drives on offense. That is pathetic. I hope they do screw up in the playoffs so they change the OC. Unfortunately I see the Bengals offense just doing enough for Brat to keep his job and that is really a sad thought. I do wish Simpson gets a chance sometime in the next three games.
