Ugh, I am being fooled into thinking Alabama will win. The "dominant" team always seems to blow it in these, at least the one who won the Heisman. But, I will trust the SEC and Saban to take the victory.

Here's what I wrote on a friend of my mine's facebook page about the game:
Score Prediction:
Alabama 31
Texas 13
The reason I have the score so lopsided is due to how porous the Texas OL is. Texas only faced one elite defense this year and that was Nebraska. The Huskers dominated the line of scrimmage from start to finish and now Texas has to face a team that is great at disguising its blitz packages. Yes, Alabama does not have anyone as dominate as Ndamukong Suh but "Mount" Cody is a huge force in the middle which allows Rolando McClain to roam and make plays, just like he has done all year.
I know Texas mostly runs the same defense as Alabama but Bama's OL is a better all around unit than the Longhorns, which is going to be play a key factor in the game. I think the game will be fairly close going into halftime but the second half will belong to Bama. Their three-headed monster of Ingram, Upchurch, and Richardson will just wear down the Texas defense and also cause them to commit to the run which will then allow Bama to get Julio Jones in one-on-one situations.
Basically, if Texas' OL got manhandled by Nebraska's DL and Alabama's front seven dominated Florida's OL, then I see no reason why Alabama's front seven will not obliterate the Texas offensive line.

I have to go with Alabama also. I think it's going to be a hell of a game though.

Crunchtime will be 3rd & longs for the Horns, McCoy will have to make crucial decisions, especially if they fall behind early to Bama like Florida did.
In the past he always either ran for it himself (McCoy was Texas' leading ground gainer going into the Oklahoma game, maybe later) or threw to Shipley. If Alabama spies McCoy with McClain or another speedy LB & covers Shipley on those 3rd downs, Texas will be shut down.
Bama was expected to come out running with its highly profiled running game led by a Heisman winner vs. Florida but they came out passing on 1st downs -- Saban always crosses up DCs & gets defenses out of their comfort zones.
Texas will have to cover Collin Peek as well as Julio on Bama 3rd & longs too, they have a good, even great run defense but how many sophisticated passing attacks did they face last yr? They can't double Peek, Marquis Maze AND Julio Jones. If they give McElroy enough time, I say he carves up the Horns defense.
Alabama: 27
Texas: 13

I'll be rooting like heck for Texas, who is a real good team....but I'm not sure that they're as good as their record indicates, they did play a relatively weak schedule for a NC participant. I really like Mack Brown and the integrity of UT's program. They are a very well-coached team, so even if they aren't as talented as Bama, they could still beat them.

Definitely going with the under on this one. Both teams are well coached, and will be well prepared. Texas will play better than most people think. I think Alabama wins, but Texas will cover since their defense will keep Bama's offense at bay. This could be a field goal duel. The tide win as long as they control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
Alabama 16
Texas 13

I think Alabama is going to win unless Texas gets their running game going. Roll Tide!

In big games like this, I'll take the better QB. Texas defeats Alabama 24-20.

I'll be rooting for Texas but I think Alabama wins it. I could be surprised. The way I want it: Texas 27 Bama 16
The way it will go: Texas 20 Bama 33
2 of Bama's TD will be Special Teams/Defensive.

Josh Heupel, Chris Leak, Craig Krenzel, Marcus Randall....exceptions seem to be common in the title game at least. I'll take Alabama's crazy athletes on defense and Saban's NFL worthy schemes.

I think Greg McElroy will be a better pro prospect than Colt McCoy....and I actually like McCoy in the right system...
Greg will shoot up draft boards next year...

I'm a MUCH bigger pro (Titans) fan than I am a college (Vols) one, and the Titans have drafted VY, Michael Griffin, Ahmard Hall, and Bo Scaife in the past 5 years. Good luck to the future Titans players there now! :D

I feel uneasy seeing pete carroll in the broadcast booth.
1) he's not a very good announcer, talks too fast and stutters.
2) he's talking up other teams. weird.
