Fact: If the Rams traded Steven Jackson for Donovan McNabb, straight up, the Rams would be a better team in the long and short term.

One tipster with a limited but viable track record in these parts claims that McNabb could be a Ram as soon as Friday, in exchange for the first pick in the second round of the draft.

But there's an important factor to keep in mind regarding such a deal. Though McNabb's contract does not contain a no-trade clause, McNabb's willingness to happily join a team that has won six total games in three years will be a big factor in any such deal.

Then there's the fact that the Rams wouldn't send the first pick in the second round of the draft for a 30-something-year-old quarterback who is under contract for only one year. The Rams will want to do an extension, and McNabb can kill the deal by simply saying "no f--king way."

That doesn't mean McNabb stays put. But it means that, before he gets traded, his new team will need to have a pretty good idea that they're getting him for more than 16 games.

If this is true, I'd have to think the Rams already have a deal in place for a trade down scenario. OR acquiring another player w/ that teams 1st and 2nd round pick.

I am definitely not opposed to a new era in Philadelphia. I won't believe it until I see it though.

I am not opposed to us getting McNabb, but we'd have to get a new QB in 2-3 years. We are more than a QB away from going anywhere in the next 2-3 years. U ask me now and next year who I'd rather want McNabb or McCoy/Pike, its easily McNabb. However, 2 years from now, its McCoy/Pike. But IDK, as long as our QB is not Marc Bulger next season, I will be happy.

With the news of the Rams possibly tendering Atogwe at the lowest tender, maybe. But at #1? No way. I think the Rams would prefer to trade down and grab, JPP? McCain?

I think JPP is a player that would completely shine and dominate in Spagnuolo's scheme.

Pick up LeFevour in R3 and groom him under McNabb? Since LeFevour can be similar to McNabb in style.

you guys need to check out what Michael Lombardi has said on the subject. The way he explains it, keeping all three (McNabb, Vick, Kolb) makes an insane amount of sense for the Eagles.

I agree that the Eagles should keep them. The Rams should jump at an opportunity to get McNabb or Kolb if they are available. The Eagles know the value of QBs, however. They know if they trade McNabb or Kolb, they could regret it in the long run. What if Kolb really isn't all that good, or gets injured. What if McNabb gets hurt or declines quickly over the next year or 2.

As for Vick, I am not sold on him. People like to assume he's gonna regain him form from 2001-2004, but I didn't see it last year. He wasn't as explosive.

Well ya I would trade down for Berry, but if they were to stay put, McCoy or Suh would be a great option. They'd solve two of their most glaring needs and then work the rest of the draft on getting McNabb weapons like Antonio Bryant in FA and a TE.

I was meaning Berry would be their option if they were to move down after making that trade like it suggested.

I can tell you that any team that doesn't have an established QB would kill to have McNabb and wouldn't call for his head like Philly. Sometimes that town is just too ridiculous.

It's starting to get to be like the Favre-Rodgers debacle. Of course, we want to keep the face of the franchise, but not if it costs us losing the next in line starter.

I wouldn't be surprised if McNabb got traded and did great things with another team. He is a great player with a fair amount left in the tank. I think too many people take his injuries a little too far.

If we trade McNabb for their 2nd, that would be amazing.

I don't see how Kolb can live up to the Philadelphia fans expectations. McNabb has set the bar pretty high, general Philly fans probably think thats how average qbs play. Yeah given he doesn't preform well at big stages, Kolb might preform better there. But along the way he is going to get boo, and you suck chants along the way and worse.

People will say we traded McNabb for this ****, they'll stop if and when he gets that superbowl.
