The new era begins at Texas

Expecting some growing pains, and some unexpected losses, I just want to see what type of QB he'll be. Another Chris Simms, or a guy who can potentially win a NC. Dude has an arm though, so we'll see.

Long as we beat OU who cares :D

Just read on ESPN.com that Missouri linebacker Zaviar Gooden (6'2", 225) supposedly just ran a 4.37 40, benched 405 pounds and recorded a 40 inch vertical...

Someone needs to workout a bit more...

Edit: I watched 6 Min. of a 10 min Jerrod Johnson Highlight tape of the '09 season:

I wasn't impressed. McNabb esque feet are definitely good, but he won't be a good pro prospect. Too many snaps out of the shotgun, and to be honest, I only saw 2 throws that really impressed me in 6 minutes of tape. The guy who impressed me in the tape was Uzoma Nwachukwu. That guy has a lot of jump ball ability and I'm sure he'll be a force to be reckoned with.

To JJ's credit, he was playing behind an o-line with two true freshman, one of which was the left tackle. We have no offensive line. As for Uzoma, his nickname from the coaching staff is "EZ" because that is how he makes everything look.

OK, let's get a bit of discussion going.

Who do you guys realistically seeing winning the Big XII this year? Texas and OU both lost their QB's so you can label them front runners although they'll be in the mix, this year is primed for a few new teams to step up.

Granted Landry Jones has had alot more experience being that Bradford was hurt alot, I'm not sure they would be the favorites. It should be an interesting year for division play I think.

I think OU has to be the favorite. As much as I hate to sound like a homer, I think we have an outside chance. Jerrod & the offense looks stacked, so long as the O-line can look mediocre. Our defense isnt great but it's average, and in the Big XII that's good enough. I think if Jerrod has a big year, we could be a darkhorse. I havent been this excited about Aggie football since 2006.

I'm pretty sure you're right. This will be his third year to play.

I think OU has to be the slight favorite. It will come down to OU/Texas vs Nebraska I think, with A&M having a chance to upset and winning the South. Missouri also has a chance in the North, but they have a pretty rough stretch in A&M, OU, Nebraska, and Tech consecutively.
