None of the drafts were really that impressive, but out of this group I'd have to go with Philly.

In 3 years I expect the giants draft to have the best talent in the NFL, that said early on I have to give it to philly and depending on how beastly Dez can get Dallas could take it. Still like our draft a lot JPP is in a great situation to become one of the top 5 DEs in the entire NFL, Joseph has all of the tools to become an excellent DT, those two picks alone will rebuild our DL which has always been the key to our defense. The guys we added to the back 7 should also be useful as Dillard will be in the competition for PT at LB and Tracy should give us a good backup SLB to Sintim. Chad Jones is the biggest question mark to me, if he's truly dedicated to FB now and makes good on all of his potential and Kenny's knee ends his career he could end up a great pick, I think it's more likely that he always remains a risk in coverage and sits behind Kenny for much of his career.

Its close between Dallas and Philly, but I give the edge to Philly.They drated two likely starters, as well as a potential starter in Chaney (even Kafka could be argued), and some key contributors/rotational players, while also giving some focus to Special Teams. Dallas has two eventual starters, who I think will be very good, and another potential starter in Ansah, worst case he has value on ST and is solid depth at Nickel or as a backup Safety. I wasn't a big fan of the Giants draft or the Skins draft.

Accidentally picked the Cowboys. Upon review I really liked the Eagles draft, and with how many players they took, just by the law of averages, some of the later round guys will likely pan out. Brandon Graham, Nate Allen, and Chaney all have starting potential this season.

The Cowboys also had a good draft, I'd give them the edge in the first round, they got a great player at great value.

As for the Giants, JPP's a physical freak, but watching his gamefilm it just doesn't translate to the field the way one would expect. But if anywhere can max out his potential it's NY. I don't really like the pick there though since there are more pressing needs for them than DE.

So I'd rank it

DT was a bigger need than DE and we addressed it with our very next pick. Other than that DE was a legit need, Kiwi is in the last year of his contract and if Osi can't bounceback this year he may be washed up, that could leave us exiting next offseason with only Tuck at the position. JPP gets to sit for a year learning while we find if Osi is done or if Kiwi can finally break out and make himself worth re-signing. Then again I liked JPP a lot more than others, the kid has only been playing ball for 4 years has insane potential and a very good motor. Of course he's raw and didn't produce up to his talent, although if he knew how to tackle that 6 sacks would've been closer to 10, but that comes with only having 4 years of experience with the sport.

It doesn't matter what our needs are. There is an old adage that says, keep your depth chart out of the war room. That's because you end up trying to fill needs and holes, rather then drafting for value. The Giants have already said that we create our draft board based on value. And if need matches value at the spot, that's the most ideal situation, but that's a hard one. We don't force anything, and our FO is disciplined enough to stick to the draft board. Mind you I hate the pick, however I understand their reasoning AND respect how they stuck to the draft board.

Marc Ross stated we had JPP ranked 6th on our draft board, and we drafted him at 15. So he said the choice was easy by everyone in the room. When you're at 15, and the 6th ranked player on your board is there you take him. That's what we did. Again, I dislike the pick, but I love how we respected our draft board, and stuck to it.
