What does being a better athlete have to do with being a better defender?

Matt Kemp is a great athlete but is pretty mediocre in the field.

It's not like Upton takes horrid routes.

Trust me, I know Rasmus is right there. But I'd choose Upton over him.(Defensively)

Carlos Pena has to be moved down the lineup or benched for Dan Johnson or something.

Pena has had like 7 homers in the last 9. I am more angry about Blalock wasting a roster spot.

Doesn't change the fact that Dan is destroying AAA pitching and Pena is hitting like crap.

You know you made a bad call when Scott Rolen gets in your face.

Just saw it on replay and MLB needs to investigate the Home Plate ump in this game. He has to have money on it. HORRIBLE call on a blown call at the plate then called a pitch almost in the dirt was called on Rolen as a strike

.288 is the team OBP of the Houston Astros. That is just so unbelievably terrible, it's ridiculous. The last team to even come close was the 2002 Tigers, who still managed an even .300 OBP.

I know I love wearing my Bossman Jr jersey to Rays games! Not to be a homer c0ck jocky or anything but I really don't see how anyone can possibly say BJ isn't one of the top defensive CFs in the game.

What's sad is the fact the Pirates are two or three games from being the fifth worst team in the majors. Joy.

The Mets always give out large 1st round bonuses but that's about it. Our farm has been better than anyone has ever given credit to us though so something is working.

It has this year with Ike and Pelfrey coming around. But the last several years, most of your top guys haven't panned out to be anything.

Complete sarcasm. Open up the thesaurus...Anything next to "barely a BP pitcher on any AL team" will fit. Bush comes up with a solid outting every four-five starts, so that demoting him would seem foolish. He's a tease, just like the entire Brewers' 2010 team.
That said, I'm riding this wagon for the long haul, win or lose. Still quite awhile before we are in Cubs territory.

With an ERA of 7.33 and 12 blown saves, the Diamondbacks’ bullpen has been a nightmare all season. A league-average bullpen would have allowed around 64 fewer runs, which would add 6 more games to the win column. This would have turned the 26-38 record to a respectable 32-32. Looking at the game-by-game breakdown, the bullpen performance appears even worse. There were 6 particularly bad blown saves, and 8 more games where the bullpen turned a tie game into a loss. 11 more times a close game was turned into a blowout. Combining all of this, I estimate the bullpen has already cost the team around 9 wins, so the Diamondbacks could have been 35-29 with an average bullpen.
