Default Fantasy Football Freaks Dynasty League Discussion, Trade, and Archive Thread

I have been running a dynasty league for 7 years (going into its 8th). Recently, I have added a bunch of guys from SWDC and we have a league split between SWDC guys, personal friends, and old FF buddies.

We added few more SWDC guys, so I am thinking of having the draft and threads over here. If there are any objections from users/mods, I can move it elsewhere.

I'm going to try and get all the new guys to sign up here and see if this sticks.

Playoff system:
--------------
top 6 teams make the playoffs (Tiebreaker by total pts scored for the year). Wild Card in Week 14. Semifinals in week 15 of the NFL season. Finals in week 16. Just like the NFL the top two regular season finishers get a bye in the first round.

Dynasty Keepers:
-----------------

This is a dynasty league but to shake things up
every team will be required to drop at least 7 players off of their 25 man dynasty roster, and the 7 players must
include at least 4 offensive players. The deadline for declaring your 18 man rosters will be the NFL rookie draft in all future years.

Dynasty/Rookie Draft:
---------------------

This will be a 7 round draft to fill the 7 vacant roster spots on each teams roster. The draft order will the reverse of the order of finish in the previous season. With your dynasty/rookie draft picks, any rookie or any player not currently on a league roster can be selected.

Trades:
--------
For every trade made, a poll will be made. The league will vote on it, yes
or no and 6 no votes equals a VETO. For every no vote, you must post reasons to prevent any shady business. The commish will not vote on it to prevent a possible tie.

The shits always going down in Chinatown!

Anyways, really excited to get this going and can't wait until the recent APS/Jbond trade goes through.

Alright guys,

I am a bit tired of waiting, so I am finalizing this stuff. Everyone had 10 days to join. Those that didn't are out. Welcome the two new additions in Mike and Wes.

Few things:

1. We are going to try discussing/drafting somewhere different this year. Over half the league is now from www.draftcountdown.com/forum Therefore, we are going to try to run the discussion thread and draft over there. I apologize to those who have been around since the beginning and signed up at multiple forums, but this will give us others to comment on our draft, rosters, etc. Feel free to head over there and register. Our Discussion thread is at: http://www.draftcountdown.com/forum/...75#post2202375 When we have the draft, I will sticky the draft thread.

2. If you need the draft order, I will put it up in the thread ASAP. We will start the draft thread (with Cuts/FAs) in mid-July. Please get me prelim cuts. They will be due July 14th (though can be changed until the draft startes,) I have decided, and we will start the draft immediately following the NFL supplemental draft.

2. We have our first trade...and it is a doozy. Myself and Project Mayhem made the following trade. If you have an objection, you can e-mail everyone or me personally. Especially since I am involved, I want this as clean as possible and someone else an arbitrate if need be:

The P Players gives:

RB Marion Barber
WR Reggie Wayne
WR Percy Harvin
Pick #1.07

Project Mayhem gives:

QB Chad Henne
RB: Joseph Addai
TE: Zach Miller
Pick #3.05

From my perspective, I think Henne is on the verge of becoming a stud QB with Marshall there, and though this trade looks like crap in a regular fantasy league, in THIS league, we know the QB is king. I need a #2...bad. I also upgrade my RBs by nabbing the Indy RB, and TEs with Zach Miller. Giving up Wayne is something I wanted to do as he is 31 now, and Harvin worries me injury wise too. The trade down from 1 to 3 still gives me a good position to get a sleeper. I hope everyone will accept this trade.

-Shane

Niiiice, thanks for all the work Shane, really glad to see this message thread moved over here, hopefully if the rest of the guys pop in from time to time I can send out trade offers here, and get some general discussion going on here throughout the season.

Everything looks good so far, that said I'm still in the works of making one big trade so anyone else feel free to send an offer.

I like the first trade though. I agree about Henne, Shane needed that 2nd QB and now he has 2 franchise signal callers very young, it took me some time to learn but having two stud signal callers is the way you build your team. WR's are so much easier to come by, once you get two young QB's to build around you can develop your team from there.

Looks to be another competitive year though, can't wait.

I wasn't one of them, but the first couple of paragraphs of the first post are probably the reason why you're getting them. Kind of misleading, even for the people that actually read more than that.

The #2 overall pick can be had. I need a solid #2 QB and a solid RB option.

Let me know.

Anyone looking to move a TE I'm interested. Willing to package Dustin Keller for a slight upgrade elsewhere.

Thanks, that's what I get for typing it up before I finalize stuff.

LL, do you want a TE or trying to upgrade elsewhere by giving away Keller?

Looks like APS' and my trade passes. Had a few people saying it was fine, and no objections.

.
Both. I'm looking at both options. Either trading for one outright, or packaging Keller in case it's a team who has 1 TE doesn't get left out to dry. That said, I'm more then likely going to keep my top 2 WR's and top 2 QB's. But Deangelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart could be packaged in for a TE trade depending on who it is, and anyone else is up for grabs. Desean and Stafford could also be involved with some sort of swap, but I'd want close to a top 5 TE if a bigger name was to be involved.

Other then that, picks, any other players, or some sort of combo is up for grabs, I've tried a few things with 2 teams that couldn't be worked out, so I may just have to wait until after the draft if noone else has anything available.

I have Olsen if you want him. Wouldn't need any of the guys, but either a deal with Keller or a pick.

Unfortunately I like Keller more then Olsen this year, which wasn't nearly the case last yr. Love the talent, just afraid of how Martz uses his TE's.

Send all questions regarding his team (the one with the second overall pick) back to Scotty. <3 :)

Im still open to trading several people on my squad, including Matt Cassel for those looking for a starting QB. Also, I have picks 1.07 and 1.08 and may be looking for move around depending on what happens.
