Adrian Beltre has been hitting .393 since May 19th and has recorded at least one hit in 32 of those 37 games.

Let's give him credit for 1.5. He did it off the Tigers shittiest pitchers.

I would say Mike Pelfrey deserves to be there also.
Although, everyone that you've mentioned deserve it.

I would like for Meek to get in, I just don't see it. It's either Meek or Cutch going. I hope and pray for both, but I guess we'll see in the next couple of days.

There is no way that Pittsburgh will get 2 representatives in the ASG with their record as it is. It will be either Meek or Crutch. Prob Crutch at this point.

I think Marmol's earned a spot as a reliever.

I've never really cared about the All Star Game. I guess I just don't trust fans to vote for the proper players. This always puts the managers in the tough spot of having to snub deserving players in favor of must takes. It always bothered me that players got voted in on reputation. I know this isn't a new thing or something that is isolated to MLB, but it is a little difficult to enjoy a product that is decided by bandwagon fans.
For instance, I'm a Phillies fan, but I can tell you that Jimmy Rollins doesn't deserve to be an all star based on his 2010. However, he is in a tight race with Hanley. That's ridic. Additionally, Matt Holliday is probably the best OF in the NL, but he's 5th in voting. That kind of stuff pisses me off...

Matt Holliday is absolutely not the best outfielder in the NL.

I don't even think Holliday has been the best OF on his own team this year.

One of the better wOBAs in the league with the highest WAR, although his UZR might be a bit funky.

Aaron Harang topping out at 89mph on his fastball today.
He has kept the top half of the Phillies line up to 3-12 with a walk.
Yet gets lazy with the bottom of the line up (like usual) and gives up a 3 run HR.

As you shouldn't. Defensive metrics are crap. UZR just happens to be the best of the crap.

I love a lot of the SABR stats and they definitely all have their place to help understand the game better but the more I see of UZR the more I think it's garbage.

I prefer to just watch a game. I think that is the only way to truly judge a player defensively.
Kinda like keeping stats for an O-Lineman in football.

Honestly, I thought this was a joke when I read it. I haven't even heard of any of this **** haha. Too bad it wasn't a joke, because I would have repped it for being funny.

UZR can't really be judged on a half season of defense, and while it is a flawed stat, it's still usable.
