This Yankee Bullpen is pissing me off lately. Thank god for A-Rod's smart play and strong arm.

Why did Votto get the day off in the midst of his on base streak?

He got ejected for arguing balls and strikes.

Pitch was a tad low and away and was called strike three. He argued and tossed his helmet.
Got thrown out and yelled more.

Like 4 or 5 years ago Carlos Silva threw a complete game for the Twins in 75 pitches. Not trying to demean Wainwright's game, just a fun tidbit.

Whoa whoa whoa.....Delmon Young is on the final ballot? He's making good progress but at this point he's still just above average.

Adam Wainwright for CY Young. Jimenez might not be a factor anymore.

Josh Johnson is easily the NL favorite for Cy Young right now.

Although Rendon would be awesome, I'd rather win. Still got 3 months left, though.

Watching the Phillies right now is one of the more painful sights in baseball.

Contreras hasn't had it since blowing out his Achilles tendon in 2008. It's pretty painful to watch him now. Which reliever(s) will the Phils try and trade for at the deadline?

He actually started the season out pretty damn well. Without Durbin and Madson, the bullpen is pretty awful. Heck even with those two, it wasn't too good anyway.
I expect them to find some who was DFA'd or make a minor trade (like Schlitter for Eyre) to get some relief help.

Looking at the NL All Stars, I would of taken Jaime Garcia over Chris Carpenter this season.

Not easily.
8-3 1.82 ERA, 115 Ks, .205 BAA, 1 CG
12-5 2.24, 123 Ks, .213 BAA, 4 CG

I'd say Halladay is right behind Johnson, but Johnson right now is the clear favorite.

Johnson has a better K/9, BB/9, K:BB ratio, BAA, WHIP, ERA, FIP and a higher WAR. I guess it's pretty close based on what voters traditionally look for, but based on who actually deserves it, right now it is Josh Johnson and Roy Halladay and then everyone else in the NL.

Octavio Dotel could be had possibly.

He has got a lot of good run support lately to help him win but has really shat the bed. Right now he is still a contender but the wheels might keep coming off of him.

Its funny that Infante made the team. But that's what you get when the game has meaning now. Infante can play 7 positions in the field and hit. Its valuable to have a guy like that if the game goes into extras.
