2011 Draft - LB's for Detroit
With the 42nd pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select ...
OLB Mark Herzlich, Boston College!
Thoughts?

I assumed Detroit would be around pick #10 & think Herzlich has top 25 talent, but many teams will hesitate (unfortunately) based on his his fight with cancer last year. I think he is on a mission & will be a stand out LB in the NFL.

i think we can probably steal herzlich in the 3rd. however, there should still be some really good linebackers out there in the 3rd and 4th rounds that we could grab and have compete for starting roles. i am all for herzlich though because i believe he'll come back and be a beast and i like his personal drive and passion for the game. however, the positional depth of the draft will probably go more towards cb, de or s, ot, and then lb.
1. peterson/prince
2. jeremy beal DE oklahoma/rahim moore s ucla
3. nate solder, lee ziemba, etc. we could use a RT or LT here so don't have to be picky
4. BPA-Herzlich if we're lucky, Nate Irving, Jerry Franklin, S, CB, OT.

Ras-I Dowling is the best CB prospect imo. I wouldn't be upset with Peterson either. LB in round 2 is cool if the value is there. Def gotta go CB with our 1st though. Good CB's are like gold, if you have them it opens up a lot of possibilities on defense.

I think we should draft a Corner in Round 1 and Round 2.
