Week 1: Patriots

I never know what to expect in these opening week games, especially against a good team AT their place.

I just can't wait to see what they put out there. Definitely hoping the defense can back up what it did all year last year and see if the offense can actually get it going.

Cannot freaking wait. I realllllly wanted to sleep in today so gametime would get here sooner but that just didn't work.

This is the game im most excited about today. I think you guys are our biggest threat this year and should be an awesome battle for the division. Good luck

Interesting for both our teams to have kind of statement games then immediately play each other. If both teams lost that would really put even more emphasis on next weeks game. I'm just glad we don't have to wait till tomorrow night

Def played like ****. Carson played like **** the 1st half. OL played like ****. Atleast they did not give up the 2nd half. We could be in for a long year.

Finally home. Anyways, don't panic yet. Everyone in the league has rust on them for the opener besides the patriots. Just a bad match up honestly. Once we fix some of our problems (motivation being the most important) this team could be really good.

We have to beat Baltimore though. You can't start the season 0-2 with a lose in the division.

The Bengals played well, the Patriots are just hitting on on cylinders out of the gates this year. If the Bengals played just about any other team today, i think they win pretty easily.

1st half we don't deserve to be in the NFL... 2nd half we played very well... decent first game although throughly concerned with Palmer

The most disappointing thing about the whole game was the defense. Hardly any pressure at all on Brady and it seemed like the under passes were utterly unguarded. Will say that the linebackers seemed to have alot of hustle sometimes...like when Rey Rey jetted down the field and outran Joseph to get a tackle that could have been a bigger play.

Still we were a pick 6 and a Kickoff TD away from winning.

Quick little break down of how I saw the game:

The Good

Carson Palmer
Proved we need to be a no-huddle team with TO and Ocho now. The man still has it.

The Line (2nd Half)
They really stepped it up in the second half creating holes and holding blocks.

Gresham
I am officially eating my crow thank you.

Ocho
His best game in years and I expect just as much from him with TO here now.

TO
A few drops but that is part of the baggage. Otherwise looked great.

Shipley
What a player. The kid is a ball player plain and simple.

The Corners
As advertised, they did a solid job holding the outside WR's down.

The Bad

Tackling
No one could do it all damn day. Like watching Pop Warner.

The Line (1st Half)
Got punched in the mouth and quit. I knew the DLine was good. But we pussed early.

Pass Rush
Im sorry. LACK of pass rush. Non-existent. Big worrisome issue for me.

Coaches
Top to bottom we got out coached.

And there you have the facts of life

Still only week one and plenty of time to fix the problems of this week. Mental errors and poor gameplanning can be fixed in a week when we get a division rival next week. Win it and get back to rolling. We gotta come out early, hit them hard and drive their dicks into the ground.

Yea, very disappointing start obviously but I think we'll be seeing that team again down the road and hopefully we can pay them back in kind. The defense was especially disappointing as they have been so damn good the past year and a half or so. We just could not create any pressure whatsoever, and ya can't do that against Brady when he's got Welker and Moss out there runnin' around.

Hopefully we can build on this because there were some good things, I still have every confidence we can beat the Ravens.

i feel like we've talked about how the bengals have needed to be a more no-huddle oriented team since like '07, and they just never use it enough.
