No they weren't. I was saying in general, NJ products are not uncommon. We have been producing good prospects for a while now.

They are pretty high considering the state population, also when we think of VA NFL players we pretty much fuse together the whole DC Metro area which includes obviously DC and a lot of Maryland hot spots. More impressive is that the majority of Virginia talent stays in state at Vatech or UVA while the few that don't are because they are top 10 talent or they go to a VA pipeline school like Penn State.

Well be on the look out for Phillip Sims down in Bama, when McElroy leaves he's a 757 product.

So was Ray Rice out of NY. He was a 3 star LB recruit. Sometimes all it takes is being developed and coaches right for a player to reach his potential.

Yes, I know coaches can bring out the potential in players but you said Donald Brown was a high profile recruit which he was not. Just because he was a great college player does not mean he was a high profile recruit.

Was Rice really a LB recruit? I remember him commiting to 'Cuse as a Rb and then choosing Rutgers when Syracuse's coach was fired.

I don't remember Rice ever being a LB recruit either. Rivals and Scout had him listed as a RB.

So much truth in this post!!!

If Raghib Ismael and Ricky Watters, among others, had attended Rutgers instead of ND, good lord!!

Jersey historically produces stud athletes that you're surprised actually prepped in the state.

EDIT: Watters is from PA. But I still stand by that statement. ND, SU and PSU have always poached NJ's top talent.

Tony Siragusa, on my mind for some reason, is a NJ product.

And people wonder why Mark Richt's seat is getting hot. He coaches at easily the top football school in a state loaded with talent, and his teams have been mediocre at best for 3 years now. Right now they're just plain bad.

I think everyone is missing the bigger shocker: the third largest state (population) isn't listed. New York is at best 11th.

Yeah, I wonder what the reasons are. Obviously, geography plays a role, but you'd think New York would be somewhere in the top 10.

Louisiana and Samoans=football, lol.

I'm more shocked about how everyone talks about blacks as the premier athletes, but I bet by population, no race can eff with Samoans, those dudes can sure American football.
