Rick. FN. Ankiel......part that makes me sick is SF couldn't scratch out a run against Kyle Fransworth. Torture.

When they hit that home run I'll admit that I considered turning off the game. Never expected us to score

Didn't either and when they did I expected them to blow the game in extras. Awe the mentailty of being a suffering Giants fans. What everyone think of going with the Mad Bomber over Timmy? Bum has been great on the road but I got to admit it is tempting to run Timmy out there on 3 days rest and try to close out the series. Plus SF would still have Cainer going for game 5.

I thought for sure that is what we would do. Bumgarner has been pretty good recently, though, so I don't mind. Our starters have pitched 23 innings with 31 strikeouts, 4 walks, and only 1 ER. Hopefully he can keep that up

I think the Mad Bum does well, but I wouldn't be shocked if he was a bit shaky to start off tonight.

Go Mad Bum! I'd prefer that they advance without a dramatic Game 5, but knowing the G-Men, that would just be too easy.

wouldn't be the torture we're accustomed to if they didn't.

All too true. So long as they pull through every time, I can handle the torture. Hell, I'd encourage it at that point.

Can't believe we got out of that with only 1 run allowed. Maybe we should have gone with Lincecum.
Edit - It might not matter. I am not sure anyone is hitting Lowe tonight.

Still can't get over the fact SF claimed him to block SD, got stuck with him, and he is guy that wins SF game 4. Amazing.
Halladay vs Lincecum Saturday. It's going to be like a prize fight.

Yep, Ross was a much better pickup than Guillen, even if it was intended to block SD.

It's going to seriously compete for airtime with college FB Saturday here in the Bay Area.
See, good things happen when you assemble the max no. of Cy Young winners on a single team, you get what you pay for in pro sports. Even if you have to give Zito the boot b/c he's an overpaid, pompous, underachieving .... don't get me started.
I'm still haunted by memories of the last Giants WS vs. the Orange County Angels where they 8 outs away from the big win, & that comical incident at home plate with Dusty Baker's son being carried by the base runner :--) ......
And big kudos to the Giants for the class showed in Atlanta the other night after the win, the hats off salute to the retiring opponent mgr. after his almost 50 yrs. in the game.
I have to congratulate the team on its overall success, usually it takes decades to recover from the wholesale wreckage done to it by an a-hole like Barry Bonds. Let him be just another unhappy memory.

The end of the Bonds era in SF was indeed a nightmare, but like it or not, he helped build that new stadium we all love. He knew what he was doing and succeeded with cheating in a sport where unfortunately cheating was the culture. You can give him some blame, but not all of it, especially since he did some good because of the excitement, intrigue, etc. that he provided.

He is pretty close to getting a statue somewhere in the Bay Area......also I think the oxygen has finally returned to my brain. That was intense and this was just game one.
