I don't like the adjusted sack rates. The Qb plays too large of a role in determining that. I mean i know the steelers don't have patriots OL but Big Ben holds onto the ball for a long time looking for his routes to develop which results in more sacks than usual.

Last year the Saints OLine was the best in football, this year, not su much. Still not turrible but mainly nicks and evans took a step back from being 2 of the best 3 guards in football

Yeah, my bad. We're watching the same games, so you know what I mean...obviously passable is the wrong word. They are still without question the least impressive assembly of talent in the league, I'm just saying that when teams can't assume we'll be passing, the line usually gives Jay time to get rid of the ball. Usually as in, more than 50% of the time. Which, considering who we have on the line, is nothing short of amazing, so it speaks to the effectiveness of a balanced offense. If other teams with actual talent would follow the same blueprint, there'd be far less fans bitching about how terrible their O-line is.

That is because it is, even though I hate FO. The Patriots easily have one of, if not, the best offensive lines in the league. Last night showed it. Brady had time to wash and condition his long, flowing locks back there even when the Jets blitzed. I have never seen a QB with that much time to throw.

Lasnt night did most certainly not show it. I was ******* there, Brady got sacked three or four times but people won't recall because it was a blowout, and several times Brady did an amazing job of scrambling out of the pocket and hitting guys, something he is not great at. Brady avoided a ton of sacks last night. No ******* way.

There were like 3 plays when he got sacked, though on 1 of them he had 3 seconds to throw the ball, and a couple more where he avoided pressure, like the 2nd TD IIRC but even then the pressure wasn't in his face for 3 seconds. Other than that he had all day back there.

Looking at last year's stats as well PIT and GB right near the bottom partly because of the willingness of their QB to hang in the pocket waiting for a WR to get open.

Look at how far AZ dropped without Kurt Warner.

I really think stats that try to quantify pass protection should take QB play into account. Great QBs know how to work a pocket.

I really like the potential of the Rams and 49ers OLs over the long haul. The Rams OL has obviously had a good season up to this point.

Browns have the best LT-LG-C trio in the league with Thomas-Steinbach-Mack...Jets have a great OL <3 that part of the team...Ravens are awesomer with Gaither but pretty good right now...I like the Chiefs OL and Albert is probably the most underrated LT in the game now that D'Brick should be getting some love...Texans have a solid unit....Giants are always underrated...Miami's unit is strong...I'll take the Jets.

Callahan is a helluvan OL coach.

1. Philadelphia - scheme plus Vick & McCoy = dominance
2. Atlanta - unspectacular but solid-greatly aided by Ryan & Turner
3. Cleveland - oddly responsible for injuring 3 QB's but generally solid.
4. Houston - best zone scheme line?

It's all based on scheme and the QB. Pocket presence and a quick release combined with a great scheme can do wonders. @Patriots.

The Bucs #1 need imo is the Oline-RT or RG.

Disagree with Philly. They got Kolb killed at the beginning of the year to allow Vick his chance, and in their games against the Giants and Bears, their line struggled.

The Giants actually haven't allowed a sack in 5 games which is crazy considering the revolving door we've had at LT, LG, and C. Lots of praise have to go to Eli and Seubert on that one.

Their most recent game was a against the Texans.....if you're talking about that one, just throw it out. Anything gained against the Texans' D can be discounted immediately.

The Bears for sure were in his face all game long.

Vick gets more time in the pocket because of spy and contain assignments when against any other QB, it would be a blitz.

The Packers are near the bottom third of the league. Our running game has lost us games but our pass blocking looks good most of the time.
