Ralph Sampson is the softest basketball player I have ever seen and it isn't even remotely close.

Watching the Gophers play is so frustrating. So many forced shots and passes either late in the shot clock or on a semi-fast break, such as the 2 on 4 fast break that Armelin and Ahanmisi attempted. Then you've got Sampson and Iverson both playing soft despite almost always being the biggest guys on the court. I do gotta say that I love watching Mbakwe and Hoffarber play.

Great end to the half though, we need to get out in transition to have any shot without Nolen out there, the halfcourt offense is just non existent. As is Rodney Williams for whatever reason despite being the best athlete on the floor 100% of the time he's out there.
We need to just get Hoff/Armelin/Hollins/Mbakwe/Sampson out there and run run run. And if I ever see Maverick Ahanmisi on the floor again it will be too soon.

Oh god, how could I have not mentioned Williams. The guy is so athletic, but he is so tentative it's insane. He's almost afraid to do anything out there.

...and Rodney Williams misses a rather open dunk and we're getting beat down the court so much, even after a made basket.

If Blake would have made one of those two 3's it would have brought the house down.
Damnit.

Seriously, he needs to just join the track team. I have more basketball talent than he does.

Our team was basically 3 players tonight, again. Hoffarber, Mbakwe, and Sampson combined for the following: 48 points, 28 rebounds, 6 blocks, and 4 assists. The other 5 guys who played combined for: 14 points (6 for 26 shooting), 12 rebounds, 1 block, and 10 assists. So, so sad.

Hey, we don't suck for once. Good road win in a tough environment. Not too often you see this team execute down the stretch. Usually we crumble with missed free throws, turnovers and bad offensive execution.
Ballsy decision by Weber to bench McCamey and Tisdale as well.

The rest of our schedule should have some wins on it, but there is seriously no easy win the way we're playing right now. Mbakwe and Hoffarber are our only two players not playing like absolute trash. Sampson had a double double but needed 17 shots to do it and played his usual charmin-soft brand of basketball. Iverson is a bumbling fool who can't take two steps without looking like he's never walked before in his life, Rodney Williams is a track star without one redeeming basketball skill, and Maverick Ahanmisi should be playing intramurals. Bring Al back right now please.

Mbakwe was a beast. He made Davis his ***** on the glass. I was surprised that you guys didn't feed him more on the block. He's too strong and athletic for Davis or any of our bigs.

He is definitely a beast, I hope he stays next year or we're totally ******. Our guards can't handle the ball long enough to get it into him or he would be averaging 18/10 easy.

Mbakwe needs to take about 50% of his rage and donate it to Sampson. Mbakwe is going to get arrested with that temper. I like watching him when he's not playing OSU.
Sampson is such a wimp, especially for his size.

100% agree. Mbakwe is one of my favorite Gophers ever, plays as hard as any player in the country and any 50/50 ball is his. Sampson on the other hand....I have never seen a near 7 footer take so many shots falling away from the basket, and flat out avoid contact at all costs on the defensive end. It's embarrassing.

What a choke job by Ohio State, up 13 halfway through the second half and end up losing by 4.

Wisconsin barely beats Iowa in OT and upsets undefeated #1 OSU...all in the same week.
Oh how I love college sports...

Hahahaha Ohio State must hate the **** out of us. Two wins against #1 undefeated Ohio State in basketball and football in the same season = priceless. We went on a 3 point run around 15:00 left in the 2nd half that was unreal, unlike anything I've ever seen. I saw Marquette go 6-7 in the first half but I think we made 5 or 6 straight 3 pointers on consecutive possessions.

Yeah, they choked it. Oh well. Let's watch the idiot voters drop them to #6 or so.
They needed a wakeup call like that.

I wouldn't call that a choke job... they played well and in the 2nd half had some shots just barely rim out. There's nothing they can do when Wisconsin hits about 6 3 pointers in a row either and another clutch 3 at about 1 min left, 2 point game by probably our worst shooter (although we don't have bad shooters, just about the entire team is over 80% at the free throw line).

They played very bad, they went completely away from Sullinger down low and it was the Aaron Craft show for whatever reason. I don't mean to take too much away from Wisconsin though, I'd take Jordan Taylor over any other PG in the country other than Kyrie Irving. He's a beast and I hate Tubby for not locking him up.

Yeah it was a good game. I couldn't believe how many 3's Wiscy was making.
