The majority of them are professional instead of academic, so you're left with a skillset that isn't applicable to the modern world. YFS is right in saying that printed word is dead...it's unfortunate, because it's one of the few things I take a genuine interest in. It's looking more and more like my options are boiling down to teacher's college, law school, or firefighting (legacy profession: hooray nepotism). Not one of those seems overly enticing at the moment.

Well, the printed word is dead, but writing...far from it. In fact, more people are reading now than ever before. Not only that, but the cost of geting your word out is next to nothing.
If you're talented and original enough, you'll eventually get discovered. The internet is the great equalizer of our time.

I have huge issues with putting writing on the internet, especially my own personal fiction writing. With intellectual property laws being as nondescript as they are about who owns what parts of the internet, I'm very selective about what parts of my fiction I put out there. Blogging is one thing, twitter and other types of social media are as well, but placing pure fiction out on the internet with no legitimate intellectual property rights is asking for someone to steal your work. And since most of my creative writing exists entirely in the world of fiction, Im very selective as to what I submit and where I submit it. Its easier then ever to get your work hijacked these days, you've got to be careful. Once it's out there, it gets very blurry as to who owns what.

Heh, I've been here literally forever but thought it would be fun to fill this out...
Name: Adam West
Age: 23
Hometown: Lubbock, TX
Favorite Sports Team(s): New Orleans Saints
School/Occupation: California State University-Northridge / a Manager at Bank of America in the Home Retention Department
Life Story: Blahblahblah. I'm a student, work full time, was recently married and have a wonderful 10 month year old daughter. Haven't really had time to be on the forums like I was in the past.
How you found the site: Um, I think I was looking for a draft website / forum waaaay back when.

Ah what the hell.
Name: Joe
Age: 19
Hometown: Bethlehem, PA
Favorite Sports Team(s): Philadelphia Eagles, and to a much a lesser extent, Phillies, Flyers, and 76ers (in that order)
School/Occupation: Currently Northampton Community College, majoring in Communication Design. Hoping to transfer to Kutztown University soon, and eventually get a job as a graphic/web designer, or in 3D animation (haven't decided yet). I work as a Computer Lab Monitor at my school for now, it's easy as hell, but the pay is pretty bad.
Life Story: Meh, nothing special. The first 17 years or so of my life were crap, but I'm just starting to turn it around and am excited about my future for once, so I'd rather not rehash the past, haha.
How you found the site: I saw my friend reading a mock draft in 9th grade (wow) computer class back prior to the 06 draft. I loved Scott's whole format and was not real familiar with the idea of a mock draft, so the whole thing fascinated me. I kept reading it through the draft and eventually found the forums and decided to join, never expected to be much more than an occasional contributor, but 5 years later I've notched more posts on this site than all other forums I've been a part of combined.
Pic: Just took this in the dining hall on my webcam. (I think I beat Brodeur as the palest person on SWDC. WOO!)
Here's a couple stuff I made for school:
I have done much more than that, that's just what I had on facebook (I put those up about a year ago.) My skillz have gotten better since then, haha. I'll be making a website for myself this semester, so I might have to post that up when it's done.

Been lurking for a while and this is my first time following the draft so I probably won't make many posts. :)

Been posting on this board more often in the last few months so I thought I would go ahead and do this.
Name: Jay
Age: 24
Hometown: I'm from Jacksonville, FL but currently live in Huntsville, AL
Occupation: Civilian Logistics Trainer for the Army
Favorite Sports Teams: Bears, Cubs, Georgia Tech and UCF football, University of North Florida (I graduated from there) basketball and baseball.
Life Story: Nothing much. Graduated college in 2008, double major Economics and Political Science. Went and got my MBA. Now I work for the Army. Got married in October and I have a Brittany Spaniel named Roxy.
How I Found the Site: I actually found this site when writing for my high school's school paper back in 2004. I was looking for information about Purdue and Louisville football (we had guys sign there) and I somehow stumbled upon this site.

Yeah, I was an FSU fan (still am) but my brother ended up going to Georgia Tech so I got season tickets to the games there for three years and became a huge fan.

I can't believe I didn't do this earlier...
Name: Kal Oso
Age: 20 (66 more days *******!)
Hometown: Irvine, CA
Favorite Sports Team(s): Browns, Indians and Cavs (and to think I had a choice...)
School/Occupation: Student at Cal Poly Pomona
Life Story: Socal born and raised. My dad's side of the family is from northeastern Ohio so it was ingrained to be masochistic.
How you found the site: I looked up "scott wright sexy man with snake" on google and I got this site instead... I started looking at the site in 2006 to just be knowledgeable about stuff. Didn't find the forum part until later and lurked like everyone else until I decided to join in on the sausagefest.
