I had Kentucky, Arizona, Kansas, and Pitt. Came close to getting half of that right if Arizona would have made the 3 at the end.

then again, this always really entertains me. people say they want a playoff in football, but they really don't. they just want to see the two big name teams play. i'd be willing to bet that the vast majority of people would love to rule any mid-major team completely out of tournament eligibility.

Thats a good point. It's nice seeing the underdogs playing well, but at the same time when you spend so much money for the 3 games, it would be cool to see the big named schools. Kentucky vs UConn makes up for that so I guess I get the best of both worlds.

This is what Brad Stevens thinks of you hating on Butler.

Rumors are Painter could sign with Missouri by Tuesday. We'll see.

To be honest, I rather would have Cuonzo Martin... Tennessee's got a really really good coach in Martin. He plays the BEST players not the most talented. Gene Keady said that Cuonzo was the best leader he's ever coached.. I know he isn't really proven in the big division but that's just my opinion

Has anyone else realized that no matter what happens, the National Championship game will be traditional powerhouse vs "Cinderella"?

yeah, it'll be a David versus Goliath type game, in terms of the programs represented not necessarily the caliber of the teams

Kentucky vs VCU is about as Cinderalla as it gets. IMO UCONN vs Butler wouldnt' really have that powerhouse vs Cinderella feel since Butler was in the title game last year and UCONN is not what you'd consider a power house team this year.

I wish UConn/UK could be the championship. I feel like that one is gonna be a classic. I'm thinking Butler vs UConn in the finals. I like UConn to take it all, but I've been wrong so much that I'll go with the opposite of my opinion and say the Bulldogs don't let another chance slip away. The Huskies have to lose a tournament game some time.

I think VCU is equipped to beat Butler. They already faced an inside/out combo of Etwan Moore and JuJuan Johnson and beat them. As good as they are I don't think in any way are Shelvin Mack and Matt Howard better than that Purdue tandem. If VCU could handle the FSU and Kansas front lines I don't think Butler will be a huge problem. IMO Butler has to be hot from 3 and Shelvin Mack has to play the way he has this tournament for them to win. Skeen vs Howard is going to be incredibly interesting to watch as both have that inside/outisde ability. The key player for Butler will be Nored. His job will be to hound Joey Rodriguez. The key player for VCU will be Ed Nixon. He’s their defensive stopper, long and athletic. His job will be to slow down Mr. Mack. I just don’t know though how Butler is going to contain Rozzell and Burgess. Also VCU has three 6-9‘+ guys on their roster who are long and athletic and can give fouls(Veal, Reddic, and Haley). I just think if you actually break it down VCU is a horrible matchup for Butler. Butler nearly lost in round one to ODU another CAA team, the difference however was ODU was not a good shooting team and couldn’t buy a basket. VCU has 3 point shooters. VCU just seems too long and athletic for Butler and when bigs like Skeen can pull out Howard and Smith it will be tough to stop VCU.

If I'm Matt Painter, I would make it appear like I'm really leaning to Mizzou to get a nicer contract from Purdue.

Painter played Mizzou like Clay Davis played Stringer Bell. It's all in the game, though.

That never made sense. Nothing about the Missouri job is better than Purdue.

Not for Painter, but I think Mizzou is a slightly better job. It never made sense for Painter to leave Purdue. He's too connected, and it's a good job.

STRIP this is completely off topic (though it fits in the NCAA discussion a bit) and you seem to know a bit more about the DC area than B'more but I figured you're knowledgeable and I'd ask anyway, how much if anything do you know about Aquille Carr?
