I guess what I was saying is this statistic essentially does count it for both schools. If a school recruits a JUCO who then graduates from their school, that counts as a graduate. If someone transfers from Rutgers to Miami, is in good standing when they transfer from Rutgers, and graduates from Miami I believe that counts as a graduate for both but it definitely counts as a graduate for Rutgers. More or less they don't penalize schools for little things like that, provided the school shouldn't be penalized (if a student transfers in bad academic standing or doesn't graduate at the new school, then I could see not counting them).
I guess the only thing that would be unfair is if a school brings in a non-JUCO transfer who then graduates, and the formula only counts the student as a graduate for the first college. Then again the student probably wouldn't be counted as a non-graduate at the second, and I'm not necessarily sure that the student wouldn't be counted as a graduate at the second school anyway. That was the thing that came across most unclear to me, but I'm sure they have a pretty good reason for however they do it. Seems like a decent formula to me.

Alex Murphy (formerly a 2012 5* SF) will be coming to Duke this coming year as opposed to next year. Just adding to an already stacked class there.

What the **** is this ****? How do you choose when you go to college?

He graduated high school early and still met all the academic requirements to get into Duke so there should be no issue whatsoever

Not at all. If the kid is smart enough to graduate early and wants to, congrats to him. He should be applauded.

Crazy how the young hot shot Shaka smart stays with a poor roster next year and Larranaga the guy who built the Mason program would leave a roster that returns nearly all key players after having won the CAA this year, making the top 32, and going 27-7. While Miami obviously has more resources and more money to offer he was offered by Mason to be a top 5 paid mid major coach of a base salary of 250k a year plus incentives, I thought that would be enough to keep the guy who's been there for 15 years.

Back to obscurity in a few years for Larranaga. He had it great at Mason. Can we argue that Mason is a better program than Miami is now?
I am sure Miami has better facilities and could offer more cash, but its not like Miami is going to be going to the NCAA tournament or challenging for the ACC crown. He had that with Mason. Why throw that away? Im confused.

Because it's literally doubling his salary. Miami is a ****** basketball program sure but money talks. If the difference in salary is smaller maybe he stays but double the money is hard to pass up.

Yeah. If he's academically hard working to get out of high school early (or gifted), then he should be able to.
I just wonder how likely it is that someone with basketball skills actually puts that much time into high school classes. To be a good basketball player, he's going to have to practice a lot. I know people who were student athletes with 4.0 (out of 4.0) GPAs that were never offered an opportunity to advance a year. Granted, they were never talented enough to care.
It just seems questionable to me.

IOWA CITY, Iowa— Iowa's men's basketball team enjoyed the nation's highest home attendance increase among teams that failed to reach the NCAA tournament.
The Hawkeyes ranked fifth in the country with a boost of 2,085 fans per home game in 2010-11. That jump trails only BYU, San Diego State, Louisville and St. John's, all of whom made the NCAA tournament.
Iowa didn't have far to go, though. The Hawkeyes drew just 9,550 fans a game in 2009-10, by far their lowest average attendance since Carver-Hawkeye Arena opened in 1983.
Iowa ranked 31st in the nation in with 11,635 fans per game, despite finishing 11-20.

Go 11-20, have 5th highest per game attendence increase in the country and 31st overall per game attendence.
Lol Wut.
Seriously though, the per game increase is understandable because of how awful we were in 09-10 and no one wanted to watch that team. But the per game attendence overall? Teams 32+ should be ashamed...

That's really surprising, it must be all old people because it always seems so dead when I watch Hawkeye games on TV.

Rodney Purvis decommitted from the Ville. Duke, Kentucky & NC State are now hot on his trail.

Wow that has to suck for Maryland fans, lose Jordan Williams now Gary Williams. Justin Anderson could very likely decommitt now.

Been a MD fan all my life and also an alumni. Not that mad to be honest with you. I love Gary, respect and appreciate all that he did for the program. I always have fond memories of the good old days.
That said, his recruiting has slacked terribly recently and I'm glad he retired and they didn't have to force him out (works out well for everyone).
UMD is a much better job than most people realize. Top 10 job in the country easily. Very attractive job, amazing talent right in the background, great facilities, great tradition and a big time conference.
There will be some big names in the mix for the job. Jamie Dixon, Jay Wright, Sean Miller all have connections.

Hope this means Wally Judge chooses Rutgers now. It was about a 50/50 shot but I still don't think we land him unfortunately.
