The way it's going it's looking like there won't be much for Hard Knocks to cover anyway.

Hopefully this translates to success on the field:

Rotoworld) According to research done by the Sacramento Bee, the Redskins, Falcons, and Dolphins have held the most heavily populated player-organized workouts this offseason

Sacramento Bee, ehh? How do you research that....

Either way, success on the field won't come from these workouts. The very best benefit they'll really get is team collaboration.

But you can't be a successful team without good team chemistry and these offseason workouts do that, at the very least.

Charles Johnson tweets:

-So people say I need to stay in charlotte! Why thow? I like Charlotte and the panthers but it's gonna be a tuff choice. I want to win!
-All I want to do is win win win no matter what.

Let's gear up to sell the farm for him.

It makes perfect sense to go after Charles Johnson, and it makes perfect sense for him to sign with us.

- He wants to win, well there is no better place to be then.

- He'll get a lot of reps

- He'll be back home

- Biermann will go back to getting situation reps

-John Abraham is the most productive edge rusher on a per play basis from the last 3 years. And they say age is catching up...

-Jamaal Anderson is also the 2nd least productive edge rusher from the last 3 years. Sigh. Imagine if we got Patrick Willis or Darrelle Revis instead of that bum.

Every year we worry it's going to be a down year for him because of age and he keeps coming back stronger.

That's true but no one stays on top forever and one of these years all of his critics will be right.

The more I read about jones, the more I think he's gonna be a beast. I predict ppl who criticize the falcons for trading for him are gonna shut up after this year

Also it sounds like michael palmer may be the young, te of the future.

Michael Palmer has amazing hands, he caught everything thrown his way last season. He has the size and is a willing blocker. He's an average athlete and runs good routes, but his hands are definitely his best asset.

I feel better about giving up that 4th this year and not getting dj williams, luke stocker or virgil green to groom as gonzo's replacement.

I want him desperately, but I'm not sure it's going to happen. And I'm starting to warm up to the idea of letting our two FA guards go and just resigning Clabo. OG isn't an overly difficult position to replace, and Dahl/Blalock weren't exactly All Pros.

I don't know if it'll happen this offseason, but at some point I'd like to see the Falcons get a 'franchise' defensive player. I'm talking about a Polamalu, Clay Matthews, Revis type of player. A guy that is a elader on the defense, consistently makes plays and is a headache for the other team. The Falcons have some good defenders, but nobody who fits that description right now. Maybe Nnamdi Asomugha could be that guy, but I'm not sure the Falcons can really afford to compete for him right now.

Question for Falcons fans:

I do not understand why Jamaal Anderson never developed. I remember when he played at the U of Arkansas he was all but unblockable. He dominated in the SEC and yet he continues to underachieve in the NFL. I don't get it.

What are your theories as to why he has not become the beast ya'll were hoping for when you drafted him?

I certainly understand this will be painful to ya'll so I thank you in advance for your replies..

To make it very simple, in college, he was bigger and faster than college tackles. He didn't have any particularly elite traits as a pass rusher and when he got to the NFL, he was no longer bigger/faster than his opponents. He, much like DaQuan Bowers, doesn't have explosiveness, and that's absolutely pivotal as a pass rusher.

Oh, and his one large year of production was heavily based on a lot of twists/stunts/exotic ways of getting to the QB. Much like Bowers.

Sorry, but I can't agree with you here. The dude played in the SEC not the Conference of the Little Sisters of the Poor or something. Many of the players he went up against are in the NFL today. So this just doesn't jive.

However, your comments about not having any elite traits or explosiveness are interesting to consider. Then don't you think that NFL scouts should have easily noticed this and down-graded him accordingly?

Explosion, pass rush moves, hand placement and other techniques are readily apparent on film study.

It's rather amazing that he was a consensus top 10 pick by just about everybody (including Scott, I believe) and he's failed miserably to resemble anything close to it.

Tons of top pass rushers flake out.

Anderson is and was just too slow off the line. Obviously a good athlete as he went to UArk as a WR, but at some point he gained ten too many pounds.

I think the problem is that he's just too slow off the snap and doesn't have any pass rushing moves to make up for it. His motor is good he just can't ever beat the OT. In college we was able to beat tackle much easier.

So anyone who had one year of success in the SEC is guaranteed to be a stud in the NFL. Got it. And I really don't feel like looking it up, but I'm going to guess that "many of the being in the NFL" is probably wrong. Even if they did make the NFL, how many of them are viable starters? If you don't think there's a large talent disparity, even with the almight SEC, you are just completely wrong.

Wait, what? NFL scouts aren't perfect? They don't make mistakes? It's not possible they overlooked massive concerns that went on the plague Jamaal because he had one year with great stats and ran a good 40 at a big size?

I'm thinking and hoping that sean weatherspoon will be the guy.
