The comments on Schefter's facebook are hilarious in regards to Leonard Davis and Marion Barber. Those "fans" have obviously been paying attention as of late.
Marion Barber cut:
"What??? Why in the hell would they release their best playmaker?"
"Wow, that was unexpected."
"What a SURPRISE! Come to Denver!"
Leonard Davis cut:
"Why would they do that? lmao"
"whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
"Wrong move for the Cowboys."
"So now it's going to be even easier to sack Romo and break his collar bone."
"Are they trying to get the first pick this year?"
"Only reason you cut a pro bowl G like him is because they're trying to get younger or they're just tanking on purpose."

I don't like him, but I could see Martz bugging Jerry Angelo for Williams...

I hope the release of Barber means more carries for Tashard Choice, who is better than Barber anyways. But I doubt it. Jason Garrett seems to hate Choice and drafted DeMarco Murray in the third round.

Reports are the Bucs have made a big offer to Nnamdi. I expect it won't be the only one he will see by the end of today.

Buccaneers are offering former Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha a contract reported as a 4yr/$58.5M contract with $22 Guaranteed.
This is also rumor that if true, the Buccaneers will release troubled CB Aqib Talib

Ummmm...no? I'd much rather have Talib, especially when you factor in age and cost. I'll take Nnamdi cause we can afford it but Talib better not be going anywhere unless he kills someone.

What's that roughly $14.6? Impressive. Figured they'd give more guaranteed.
Wouldnt be surprised to see that topped.

Charles Johnson: Falcons 'very interested' in Charles Johnson
Charles Johnson - DL - CAR - Jul. 26 - 1:06 pm et
FOX Sports' Adam Caplan confirms a previous Charlotte Observer report that the Falcons are "very interested" in free agent Charles Johnson.
Ray Edwards was the Falcons' reported top target around draft time, but they've switched their sights to Johnson. Johnson is a younger pass rusher than Edwards and has been more productive with a far worse supporting cast, so he'd be our preferred target as well. While the Panthers will do what they can to bring back Johnson, it's clear they'll have to pay up big time.
|
I still think there's almost no chance he leaves Carolina, but good to know we're going after him. I don't buy the whole "Ray is overrated, only good because of that DL" argument as much as everyone else seems to, but I'd definitely rather get Charles Johnson.

I doubt we will hear much of anything about Ray Edwards in the coming seasons. I've never thought he was very good.

Ha. Are you serious? 4-58 with 22 guaranteed is the minimal offer even to get your foot in the door. He's going to make much more than that.

They have a ton of cap space and a dearth of talent. Funny, they've been linked to Ray Edwards also (above post).

IDK, He played college ball for the Georgia. He might want to play for his hometown team.
