TJax/Clipboard Jesus in Seattle...almost as bad of combo as Beck/Grossman in Washington. Yikes...

PFT is reporting a $76 million deal with $32 million guaranteed, including a $30 million signing bonus for Charles Johnson.
Ray Edward's agent must be dancing somewhere. I don't even want to think about how expensive Tamba's deal is going to be.

Johnson was either the best or second best FA on the market and it was paramount that Carolina brought him back.

For the life of me I dont understand why the Vikes are interested in McNabb. This is rebuilding year for them anyways, why not just throw Ponder in there and see what you have. I know he didnt have an off season program with the team this off season. I just hope if they do get McNabb its for cheap and they get him restructure his contract to something reasonable.

Because we have two turnstiles at the tackle position. It really all boils down to the contract we settle on, if it's too expensive I agree with you.

Double digit sacks once in his career just earned him a contract that averages 8 figures a year. I think he has more potential than Ray Edwards for instance, but that is a **** ton of money no matter how you slice it.

We did try and make a big offer IIRC but Peppers didnt want to come back and refused to sign anything more than a franchise tag.

I'm not denying that its a **** ton of money but Carolina did what they had to do to bring him back. If they wouldn't have then they would have been screwed at DE next year

Everything I read originally in the Peppers fiasco was that he was more then willing to come back, so long as it was under the condition of a long term deal which was never hammered out. Things went sour when the team decided to franchise and shop him rather then give him that long term deal. If Im correct in assuming he had no issues in staying in Carolina in the first place, why in pluperfect hell would the Panthers give that kind of contract to Johnson now instead of Peppers then? It still astounds me that the Panthers let Peppers walk for nothing.

Your right I guess I shouldn't worry to much. With the way our Oline pass protects, McNabb will just get killed and Ponder will be in there in no time. lol

yeah it astounded me too, when everything went south i was sure theyd trade him but instead let his contract run out and let him walk which was the dumbest thing ever. One problem was Peppers liked to take plays off and then towards the end liked to take entire series or games off, alot of the problems that fans had was that and im sure the front office didnt like that much either especially when with a year left in his contract he was wanting to resign to a huge deal that after having a mediocre season noone thought he deserved. Obviously hes done great in Chicago and i was sad to see him go but at least we got Johnson back.

And I remember getting in an argument with someone last year who thought Charlie Whitehurst was going to be the future for the Seahawks. Haha.

Same OC as Minnesota will give him an advantage. I doubt he'll ever be great, but I don't really think he got a fair shake in Minny either.

If anyone can be that bad with Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin, and Adrian Peterson I don't think there is much hope for him.
Come on BB I expect this from someone who's team didn't play him twice a year but you?
