He's still a FA. Panthers brought him in for a physical and all that junk but didnt offer him a contract yet. I read somewhere that Shockey and our TE coach are good friends so that should help out some. If I had to guess I would say he will end up coming here. He loves Miami and the type of guy he is he would do anything to be able to live in Miami so he can party it up every chance he gets.

WOOOOOO HOOOOO we made it to the 2nd page!

Shockey is signing with the Panthers. Jeff Darlington said that the Dolphins never made an offer and wasnt all that interested in him. Fasano and Shockey sure would have made a good TE duo.

Other news is the Dolphins placed a 2nd round tender on Thigpen and place a tender on Nate Garner. Cobbs didnt get one so he will hit the market. Kinda surprised by that since how the coaching staff seems to love Cobbs.

EDIT- Incognito locked up for 3 years.

Last-minute signings still coming in: Miami re-signed guard Richie Incognito to a 3-year deal today.

Indifferent on not bringing in Shockey, shell of his former self.

Honestly not a fan of bringing Incognito back. He was mediocre all season and I would have rather went out and signed someone like Gallery and address C in the draft with someone like Wis or Fusco. As of now it looks like we have Long-Garner-Incognito-Jerry-Carey with Berger as the top backup inside and I guess Murtha at OT. Still not a huge fan and hope we take an interior lineman early.

Incognito was able to hold his own at center last year I thought. Granted he only played 2 games there but I still felt he did a better job then Berger. He's more suited for center then he is at guard anyway.

I agree that he's definitely better than Berger and his skillset is better suited for center, I just don't think he's that good overall. I do understand bringing him back though as without him we'd have to find three starters, having him there gives us an average starter at either OG or C and allows us to go out and find a BPA elsewhere. Hopefully Jerry gets his butt in the weight room this offseason so he can get some strength to handle playing at RG then we really only need to find one more starter out of Garner/Berger/draftpick/freeagent.

Now that the draft is over, who is everyone's top targets for free agency? Obviously the players that actually hit free agency will depend on whatever rules we'll be under.

QB: We need a veteran that can both mentor Henne and push him, similar to Pennington. I also think we need to sign an UDFA with upside to either stash as a developmental guy or slip onto the practice squad because I don't think Brandstater is worth wasting any sort of spot on to 'develop.' If we are under the 2010 rules, Thigpen will likely be returning as a RFA too. There are a lot of veterans out there but I'm not sure which one really fits best. Ideal Scenario: Sign Marc Bulger and Josh Portis.

At OLB, we need to find someone that is good enough to start in case of an injury to Wake/Misi and is, at worst, a third down pass rush option that can spell Misi while he develops his skills. Ideal Scenario: Cliff Avril. Under 2010 rules he'd be restricted though. Not a whole lot of other options out there...bring back JT since BP is gone? Bring back Moses? Try and sign a bunch of UDFA types like Chinasa, Darbut, Addison, Marshall? Honestly wasn't a big fan of this OLB class in FA or the draft aside from a couple of the top guys so we'll probably just fill the depth with middle of the road and undrafted guys and hope to strike gold.

Speed back. Maybe Kory Sheets is the speed back, Sparano and company have consistently said they are 'intrigued' by him but don't really know what they have. He at least needs competition for the spot. Ideal Scenario: Sign DeAngelo Williams. Backup plan: Darren Sproles? Reggie Bush if he gets cut? UDFAs like Devine, Locke, Spann if we like Sheets?

I like the depth on the OL and DL for the most part although I wouldn't mind an upgrade at swing OT. I think we're set in the secondary, ILB, TE, WR, and specialists. Clay will likely be a TE so a FB to compete with Politte.

Anybody out there? Looks like we're getting Orton and Bush today and went with Jason Trusnik as our backup OLB/special teams ace. That covers the three needs I mentioned above...can't say I'm overly excited about any of them. If it doesn't work out and Sparano loses his job, the next regime is already going to be short two draft picks, likely a 3rd and 6th.

Pretty excited about bringing back Tony McDaniel and dumping Merling in the Orton trade though.

Not jumping up and down about the Bush trade but I do think he can help our offense become less predictable. Just hope he can stay healthy. And Orton isnt anything to write home about but he is better then Henne and thats exactly what we need. But who knows if that deal will happen. Im hoping though since he is our last good option.

Hear the awesome news? We signed the great Matt Moore to a two year deal today.

Its gonna be a fun season boys and girls with having either Henne or Matt Moore being our starter /sarcasm.

Sources: The Dolphins have agreed to a four-year contract with LB Kevin Burnett, who will be signed to replace Channing Crowder at ILB.
An upgrade over Crowder. An actual good signing by the Dolphins. I for one am shocked.

Some info for all you active fans in here

-Shaun O'Hara visited the team today but went back to New York after the visit. I guess he is deceding with his family if should stay there or take deal with Dolphins.

-Apparently Dolphins are talking to Ronnie Brown and would like him back.

-Jason Taylor is coming back to the Dolphins. Glad to have him back. We need his leadership and the little pass rushing skills he has left.

-Marc Colombo signed with the team today. What a great move /sarcasm. We are screwed if he sees the field.

-Tim Dobbins cut

-Vernon Carey wasnt at practice tonight due to personal reasons. Me think his days could be numbered soon.
