12-16 team keeper/dynasty pay league

i'd like to start a keeper league this year with anywhere from 12 to 16 teams, preferably with an entry fee around $15, winner take all. flyingelvis showed me a good site to keep the payout safe during the season, where nobody has access to the money until we have a champion. you can check it out here. it seems like most people prefer to use yahoo for fantasy leagues, so i'll work on setting it up there.

scoring
-definitely ppr
-kick return pts go to individual players (50 yds/pt, 6 pt td)
-everything else standard

roster format
if we get 12: qb, rb, rb, rb/wr, wr, wr, te, d/st, k
if we get 14 or 16: qb, rb, rb/wr, wr, wr, te, d/st, k

That website is definitely a "damn how could I not think of that idea." How much do they charge to "hold" the money during the year I wonder.

it's free, but to be able to pay via credit card and not semi-sketchy bank transfer, it's an extra 3% of the league fee.

I will play. $20 would be better though. $15 is a weird #.

I'll play. I agree that $20 is better. I also agree on a 2rb / 3wr / 1r/w format unless you get 16 teams.

Of course, that depends on the draft date. That's really going to be the biggest hurdle this late in the game. I shouldn't have any problem making any night except the 1st as long as it's not earlier than 8pm EST.

Right? Such a great idea.

As I said to sbh, it's basically paypal without the outrageous rights paypal gives itself in the TOS.

To be fair to leaguesafe - it's not that it's sketchy, just that people are (and should be) generally wary of giving out banking info.

Just make sure you select the option where it's majority vote for the payout, not commish. I already dropped one league b/c of that. Also, be sure to set the fee to $20.60 to cover the 3%.

I have bylaws from a few different leagues if you want them. Rules do tend to make things better. lol

yeah draft will be after 8ish est pretty much guaranteed. i've got a league set up on yahoo, but there's no option to make it a keeper league when setting it up. does that change post-season?

Yes. Just make the league and next year when you renew it you make keeper settings. As for this year you need to confirm people that will pay the fee and be able to find a good draft time for everbody which is difficult. I hope it works I want another league.

Also you need to confirm keeper rules in terms of how many players etc. And I strongly suggest using the scoring settings I posted.

We have to advertise this better though. I'm surprised more people don't want a challenge with a little bit of cash prize... The league safe site seems very legit but youd have to get rhe entry fee on there before giving league info to guys. Send out more PMs I guess.

I haven't tried to rope members here into $$$ leagues, but I've heard the results, historically, have not been stellar.

I'll hit you guys up & offer 1st dibs next year when I finally take the plunge and commish my own $$$ league. I was going to do it this year but the lockout made it too uncertain to spend the time, so I just joined a $$$ league with an open spot instead.

I've been an email subscriber for years at footballguys.com. They seem to have a solid forum, though I don't post a ton there, I follow quite a bit. They have a subforum dedicated to leagues. I'd recommend one that uses leaguesafe. Personally, I won't bother with leagues that don't use it, unless it's all people I know. It's just such a no-brainer at this point. Easy protection for everyone in the league.

Anyway - here's the link to their "looking for leagues" forum. Hopefully the link isn't against the rules.
