I don't get why the AP is important. It hasn't been used in the BCS formula in how long? Although, the coaches poll should be thrown out the window in favor of the AP poll in the BCS formula.

Because the people that write about CFB are the ones that make up that vote. They are very self important. Just ask them how important they are.

I just do not see Auburn going any better than 6-6. But good for them.

Boise State is not better than Stanford. Texas A&M is not better than Wisconsin or Nebraska.

florida's ranking is purely on talent. they will end up losing like 4-5 games this year. not a top 25 team.

I agree with you for the most part but Texas A&M is better than Nebraska.

West Virginia should be able to handle LSU. Jefferson still at QB and Peterson gone, Geno Smith another year better. All irrelevant to the rankings, though.
South Carolina is top 10.
Auburn and Florida are both overrated.
Stanford should be higher.

LSU is way too high. They have absolute crap at QB. Les Miles is a moron whose luck will eventually run out. They could easily lose to Oregon, Mississippi State, Alabama, and Arkansas. At best they are 10-2, more likely 9-3, which is not good enough for #4 in the nation.
No way Florida or Auburn should be ranked. I'm not even sure Auburn makes a bowl game. Of course they beat Utah State, FAU, and Samford. They should beat Ole Miss. I can't see them beating Alabama or LSU. So can they get 2 wins from Miss State, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas and Clemson? I'm not sure. As for Florida... They could easily start 4-0 and get ranked in the top-ten. Then comes Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina. Only Bama and Vandy at home. Getting out of that 3-3 would be amazing. So would beating Florida State. 7-5 is their likely finish, not good enough to be ranked.
The team that should be ranked and is not is UCF. They finished last year at #19. Sure they lost some guys on defense, but the defenses in C-USA are so bad, they'll still have the top Defense in the league. Their offense should be even better, as Jeff Godfrey was one of the best QBs in the nation the last month of the 2010 season.

Dennis Johnson (2009 starter) is back after injury. Broderick Green and Ronnie Wingo are both capable starters. You can't just up and replace a Knile Davis but it definitely doesn't hurt to have these guys filling in.

Missouri is actually pretty stacked, the only position that concerns me is the Quarterback position. Which I know is a pretty important position but Pinkel always seems to get a good Quarterback....Brad Smith, Chase Daniel, Blaine Gabbert and now James Franklin.
We have solid depth all around and really good depth on the Defensive Line.
